Who am I?

Hello, my name is Bryan Parra, im 17 years old and im a senior at COHEA. Ive been attending this school since 6th grade and it has been a great experience overall. I've made countless friendships throughout the way and each of them have shaped me into the person I am today. Some of my hobbies include working on my car, playing basketball, going fishing, and listening to music. I've been into cars ever since I was 5 years old. My dad owned a 1990 Honda NSX and ever since then I've loved cars. He's shown me how to work on cars and tune them to be even faster and also looking 10x as nicer. Along with my passion for cars, my love for basketball also started at a young age. I grew up watching players like LeBron James and Paul George and it inspired me to go out and play in not only teams but also at a park, which some call "street ball". Street ball is essentially basketball, but with a swag twist, adding moves like the crossover and the jelly layup, adding flash and a unique touch to the game. I recently picked up fishing, and it's been really thrilling overall. Ive caught fish like snook, bass, and other freshwater fish found all over Florida. Im also a big fan of watching shows and movies, mostly on Netflix. The big one im on now is prison break and id definitely recommend it to others. The show surrounds a man named Michael Scofield, a mastermind who's only goal is to break his brother, Lincoln burrows, out of prison, who was wrongfully given the death penalty without doing any sort of crime. Some movies I like to binge watch are all the fast and furious movies. Overall, my big passions are sports and working on my car. I'd like to be a sports therapist when im older, because I want to help athletes reach their full potential without having injuries to hold them back.

Things I do for fun

Following my hobbies, some things I like to do for fun is go out at night to places like Brickell and drive around and walk. I also like to fish and play basketball. I love to eat, and some of my favorite foods include burgers from Five Guys, a pizza from that one pizza place in Wynwood, and Cookies from night owl. If I had to pick a favorite restaurant, id have to pick Texas Roadhouse, this restaurant in particular has alll types of foods that I love, including burgers, ribs, and steaks. Other foods include sides like mashed potatoes with bacon and cheese, and their seasoned rice. Definitely the coolest place you can check out in Miami is the iconic Wynwood walls, which include a variety of different art murals, each unique in their own way, made by different artists who feel different emotions, causing them to make a wonderful masterpiece.

Future Plans

If I had to describe my ideal future, it'f for sure include a lot of money. My dream in the future is to own a car like the orange 350z above, and make it into a show car and take it to events and car meets. As for my career, id like to be sports therapist, id like to help athletes reach their full potential without the worry of injuries to stop them from it. My dream school is UM, but nothing in life is a straight path, so other schools id consider possibilities include UF, USF, and UCF. As you can see, I wouldn't want to leave Florida, I've got all my friends and family here, and moving away for college would feel like id have to start all over again, meeting new people. For some people thats exciting, but not for me. If I can't be a sports therapist, id go through the law enforcement route, and go through the police academy to become a police officer for the city of hialeah. Although I have the end goal in mind, it is good to have backup options, and be ready to pick those options if the ones you want can't be made reality.

My accomplishments

I have many accomplishments im proud of, and whenever I think about them it fills me with joy. One big accomplishment that I've fulfilled was that I lost alot of weight over the summer and was able to get in shape. I used to be really out of shape and sometimes it'd be hard to play the sport I loved, but after getting in shape, my health has improved drastically, I've been able to play multiple sports at the same time, and all while feeling amazing. Another one of my accomplishments is the fact that I've been able to be in my Police academy here at COHEA for four years now. I've learned many useful skills in this class, much of them have helped me be a better person in society. In here, I'll end up learning CPR, defensive tactic techniques, and overall knowledge of the policing world and what it takes to be a member of the law enforcement program. One more very important accomplishment I have in my life is the fact that I've been able to go through all these years of high school with good grades and a promising future. I'll look back one day and be proud of the person I became, the people I met during that time, and the things I was able to accomplish with the knowledge I gained from all those years.

A top 3 moment

A time where I felt where I was on top of the world was 3 years ago during a basketball game of mine, we were down three points with 15 seconds left on the clock, I was passed the ball at a little before the three point line and without hesitation I shot it. Truth be told it was a rushed shot, I didn't have faith in it going in and I honestly thought I had sold the game, but boom, the rock went through the net making that swish satisfying sound, and just like that we were tied, I had given my team a final chance to win this game. In the end, we won the game 54-50, and the feel of that win felt like never before. I was named mvp of that game and since then, I replay the moments in my head as if it were yesterday, the shot that had given my team that final chance to win, and we did.

Embarasing moments

One of my most embarrassing moments has to be when I dropped my canes meal on accident. I was ordering my food and just waiting for it, but I was eating crap and wasn't paying attention, I grabbed my food and accidentally bumped into someone else, spilling my food onto them. Mind you, the Canes at Doral had opened not too long ago, and the place was packed, so everyone there saw the moment where I spilled my food onto someone else, at the end of the day, I left hungry, and someone left home with food on their clothes, and really pissed.
