I believe I did poorly the past term, which gives me the need to exert more effort in the Math subject area. Therefore, I need to increase the number of goals I have, specifically:

Aiming for a higher term mark than the last term;
Developing a habit of advanced reviewing, wherein I allot at least 10-30 mins. per school day for this;
Allotting 10 mins. per school day to recall and apply previous Math formulas, techniques, definitions, and problem-solving skills;
Take more detailed and helpful notes in class; and
Manage my time better when it comes to accomplishing Cerebry and asynchronous homework.

Was I able to complete these goals?

I believe I was able to complete some goals, such as aiming for a higher term mark than the last term. I have been getting more consistent marks in long tests and quizzes compared to last term. Furthermore, I was able to take more detailed notes about the definition of mathematical terms. However, I was not able to allot time to practice my problem-solving skills. One way or another, I observed myself improve in the Mathematics subject this term.

This term, we only had one collaborative work where we had to work with a partner to solve a problem related to arithmetic and geometric sequences and series. Although I was not able to comprehend the topic first because I was absent, I contributed by understanding the problem and representing the given values as an equation.

What is a misconception in Math that I had?

One misconception I had was regarding Arithmetic and Geometric Series. In one of the Asynchronous Tasks, I used the formula for Arithmetic Series for a problem that needed the Geometric Series formula. Since I was absent during the day this topic was discussed, I was delayed and I have not learned much about the formula for Geometric Series yet.

How did I solve this misconception?

Since I submitted the Asynchronous Task late, I was able to take a look at the answer key to check if my answer was right. Afterwards, I realized what my mistake was and I corrected my mistake.

One of the outputs that showed my best efforts was the first long test of the second term. Instead of sleeping in class as always, I started the second term strong by listening attentively to class and taking detailed notes. Among my friends, I was the one who got the highest score. I also reviewed my notes well before the test. My scores on my other long tests were relatively high as well, but this one was my best so far considering its difficulty and the score I got.

What task did I have a challenging time with during this term?

A task that I had a difficult time with during this term was an asynchronous task that was given to us about Geometric Sequences. Most of the tasks that I had a difficult time with were related to this topic due to the fact that I was absent and I did not get the chance to keep up with discussions. In this asynchronous task, I used the wrong formulas for some items.

How did I solve this challenge?

I was able to solve this challenge by reviewing the discussion materials that were posted and studying them. I understood that I had to study by myself instead of relying on stock knowledge as I always did, along with the fact that I had to double my effort studying since I needed to catch up. Another solution to my challenge that I did was ask my friends about how to solve problems that were about this topic. In the end, I realized that it was as easy as solving Arithmetic Series problems, only the fact that the formulas were different.
