Ever since 1826 when cameras were first invented, newspapers showed these real-life pictures and put them into their newspapers for people to view. This was the perfect way at the time to show real events that happened, but took way too long to actually get the information out. This had little effect on America's people because by the time they knew about it, it happened long ago.

Once the radio came out in 1920, it became a massive hit rather quickly. It became very common in households (especially in the suburbs) and was the easiest way to communicate info to large groups of people. On the radio people sang, made up stories, entertained, and even the president spoke on this to give out vital info. This allowed American people to understand and know the facts of RECENT topics.

"Roaring Twenties." American History, ABC-CLIO, 2023, americanhistory.abc-clio.com/Topics/Display/1187231?cid=41&sid=1187231.

The TV was first invented in 1928 in the homes of america and was later used on a large scale during the 1940s-1950s. The TV allowed entertainment (even more than the radio) because now there was also something to watch. The TV became so popular it was in most homes in America and could actually show video clips of what happened and how bad some acts were. Instead of just trusting evidence and words, you could now actually see the evidence in your home and right in front of you. This invention was revolutionary to making sure the world is updated on recent events.

"Family Watches Television." American History, ABC-CLIO, 2023, americanhistory.abc-clio.com/Search/Display/1279696.

Although this invention was very recent, it was still extremely efficient for people to get information and spread information. The only problem was that anyone could do it. This led to the problem of whether the news actually happened and was real rather than just made up and edited. News came faster, but is now harder to trust. Are we actually moving forwards or backwards???

This started with people way long ago when a sense of communication was made. This took way too long to give any information, for this information to be trusted was nonexistent, and overall an extremely inefficient and unreliable process. Although it worked, change needed to be made.
