         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Hanna Mari Pasanen</strong>	"I try to make my students think critically when they read or see news that are shocking or revealing something ""no one has told you about before"". I explain how certain clickbait websites make money with advertisements (more clicks, more money, no matter if the news are fake or not). This explains why someone would bother write lies and fake news on purpose. On the other hand it is important to understand that some of the fake news sites have a hidden (or quite obvious) agenda.&nbsp;<br><br>There are some fake news sites in Finland that are very popular. The most widely read site is very racist and islamophobic and some people share their ""news"" very often in social media. That is how many students (and adults, too) also keep seeing these headlines even if they don't necessarily go to the site themselves."</div>]]></description>

We need to verify the sender or writer, the media before we start analyzing. When it comes to students knowledge about various topics, I sometimes have to inform them that they have found misleading information. We need to work a lot more on how we can teach students to distinguish the true/fake news. When it comes to social media, we need to focus on how to avoid falling into the traps of fake news and thus click on them to help spread them.</div>]]></description>
