Social Action Groups:

These groups are formed to attempt to create a power shift so that resources are moved and to "improve the macro social or physical environment."
These groups are made up of social workers, other professionals, people of the community, and clients, and can be a combination.
Social Action Groups are formed to create a planned change which is a structured action plan for improvements where needed as is used in generalist social work practice.
These groups can be used to help people access the resources and services they need.

Barriers in groups that should be met

Four barriers to teamwork:

Good intentions are not enough for effective teamwork. Knowledge and skills are important too. Getting along with others is not as simple as being nice.
Social workers are empowered despite not being the ones in charge of an organization.
Clarity of who is most competent for which roles is key. Clear negotiating and understanding of everyone's role is important to get things done productively and well.
Being aware of different professionals' perspectives and how to balance them all is important to good team work.
