La responsabilidad social puede estar comprendida por acciones negativas y positivas, es decir, las primeras se refieren a abstenerse de actuar y las segundas a actuar.

La responsabilidad social es llevada a cabo por un individuo (responsabilidad social individual) o por el personal que conforma una empresa u organización.
