         <description><![CDATA[<div>In fisica nucleare la fusione nucleare è il processo di reazione nucleare attraverso il quale i nuclei di due o più atomi vengono avvicinati o compressi a tal punto da superare la repulsione elettromagnetica e unirsi tra loro generando il nucleo di un elemento di massa minore, o maggiore, della somma delle masse dei nuclei reagenti, nonché, talvolta, uno o più neutroni liberi.</div><div>La fusione di elementi fino ai numeri atomici 26 e 28 (ferro e nichel) è una reazione esotermica, cioè emette energia[2] essendovi una perdita di massa; per numeri atomici superiori la reazione è endotermica, assorbendo energia per la costituzione di nuclei atomici di massa maggiore.</div><div>Il processo di fusione è il meccanismo che alimenta le stelle, dove si generano tutti gli elementi che costituiscono l'universo, dall'elio fino all'uranio.</div><div>La fusione è stata riprodotta dall'uomo con la realizzazione della bomba H.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Il carbonato di calcio è il sale di calcio dell'acido carbonico.<br>Puro, a temperatura ambiente è un solido bianco poco solubile in acqua, cui impartisce una reazione lievemente basica: 100 grammi in un litro di acqua a 20 °C formano una sospensione il cui pH è circa 10.<br>Come gli altri carbonati, subisce decomposizione per riscaldamento o per contatto con sostanze acide, liberando anidride carbonica. Su questa sua caratteristica si basa il metodo per la sua determinazione, detto analisi calcimetrica.<br>Il carbonato di calcio è il maggiore componente del calcare sciolto nell'acqua e il principale responsabile della sua durezza. In combinazione con il riscaldamento dell'acqua per usi civili dà origine all'incrostazione calcarea.<br>In natura, il carbonato di calcio è il materiale che costituisce, in tutto o in parte, una grande varietà di tipi di rocce: il marmo, le rocce calcaree, il travertino. I minerali costituiti da carbonato di calcio sono l'aragonite e la calcite.</div>]]></description>

La sua formula chimica è NaClO.<br>Diluito variabilmente dall'1% al 25% circa in soluzione acquosa, di colore giallo-paglierino e dal caratteristico odore penetrante, è noto nell'uso comune come sbiancante e disinfettante, con i seguenti nomi:<br>Candeggina, dal verbo candeggiare, che significa rendere candido, bianco, usata per detergere, disinfettare sanitari e pavimenti, smacchiare, sbiancare o decolorare tessuti e capi di abbigliamento non colorati.<br>Varichina, Varachina o Varecchina. dal francese varech, alga da cui si ricavava la soda.<br>Amuchina, in soluzione più diluita, viene usata come disinfettante alimentare.<br>Nettorina o Nitorina, nome commerciale usato soprattutto nel nord-Italia, specialmente in Romagna, il cui significato è rendere splendente, cioè nitido, limpido, pulito, bianco.<br>Neveina o Niveina, usato al centro e sud Italia, e che significa, appunto, rendere bianco come la neve.<br>Acqua di Labarraque, dal chimico francese che la studiò, Antoine Germain Labarraque (1777-1850).<br>Acqua di Javel (dal Francese Eau de Javel)</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Come scoprire dai denti luogo e alimentazione nell’infanzia</p><p>I denti, come le ossa, incorporano nel tempo elementi chimici dall'ambiente attraverso l'alimentazione, l'acqua che beviamo e l'aria che respiriamo. Tuttavia, a differenza delle ossa, i denti si formano durante l'infanzia e non si rigenerano o si rimodellano durante la vita, il che significa che conservano una "firma chimica" stabile degli isotopi presenti durante i primi anni di vita di una persona. Analizzando i rapporti isotopici in un dente, è possibile ottenere informazioni sul luogo e sulle condizioni in cui una persona è cresciuta.</p><p>### <strong>Isotopi utilizzati nell'analisi dei denti</strong>:</p><p>1. <strong>Isotopi dello Stronzio (Sr)</strong>:</p><p>   - Il <strong>rapporto isotopico dello stronzio</strong> (87Sr/86Sr) è uno degli isotopi più utilizzati. Lo stronzio proviene dal suolo e dalle rocce e si accumula nella catena alimentare attraverso le piante e gli animali. Poiché il rapporto isotopico dello stronzio varia a seconda della geologia locale, analizzando lo stronzio nei denti è possibile risalire a dove un individuo è vissuto durante l'infanzia, in base alla composizione geologica del luogo.</p><p>   - Ad esempio, se il rapporto isotopico dello stronzio nei denti di un cadavere corrisponde a quello di una determinata area geografica, è probabile che quella persona abbia vissuto lì da giovane.</p><p>2. <strong>Isotopi dell'Ossigeno (O)</strong>:</p><p>   - Gli <strong>isotopi dell'ossigeno</strong> (18O/16O) nei denti riflettono principalmente il contenuto di isotopi dell'acqua bevuta durante l'infanzia. L'acqua varia nel rapporto di isotopi di ossigeno a seconda della <strong>latitudine</strong>, <strong>altitudine</strong> e <strong>clima</strong>. Questa analisi permette di determinare il tipo di ambiente in cui una persona è cresciuta (clima caldo o freddo, umido o secco, ecc.).</p><p>   - Ad esempio, persone cresciute in regioni più fredde o a latitudini elevate tendono ad avere rapporti isotopici di ossigeno diversi rispetto a chi è cresciuto in regioni calde e tropicali.</p><p>3. <strong>Isotopi del Carbonio (C)</strong>:</p><p>   - Gli <strong>isotopi del carbonio</strong> (13C/12C) possono fornire informazioni sulla dieta dell'individuo, poiché il rapporto isotopico del carbonio varia a seconda del tipo di piante consumate. Le piante del tipo <strong>C3</strong> (cereali come frumento e riso) e <strong>C4</strong> (mais e sorgo) differiscono nei rapporti di isotopi di carbonio.</p><p>   - Questa analisi può essere utilizzata per distinguere tra una dieta ricca di piante C3 o C4, fornendo dettagli sulla base alimentare della persona.</p><p>4. <strong>Isotopi dell'Azoto (N)</strong>:</p><p>   - Gli <strong>isotopi dell'azoto</strong> (15N/14N) forniscono informazioni sulla <strong>catena alimentare</strong> di un individuo, poiché i rapporti isotopici dell'azoto aumentano man mano che si sale nella catena trofica.          <description><![CDATA[<p>SIAMO FIGLI DELLE STELLE <br>Gli elementi chimici che formano i nostri corpi e tutto ciò che ci circonda, si sono originati nello spazio miliardi di anni fa, prima ancora che si formasse il nostro sistema solare.<br>Quella che vedete è una versione della tavola periodica che attinge ai dati raccolti dall'astronoma Jennifer Johnson della Ohio State University e mostra l'origine di ogni elemento trovato sulla Terra.<br>Alcuni atomi si sono formati nel momento della nascita dell'universo, mentre altri durante la vita o la morte delle stelle.<br>L'idrogeno e l'elio, ad esempio, si sono formati già durante il big bang.<br>L'azoto, componente del nostro DNA, ed il carbonio, essenziale per il nostro organismo, si trovano all'interno di piccole stelle; quando queste muoiono, perdono i loro strati più esterni, formando nebulose e liberando i suddetti atomi. L'ossigeno, invece, deriva dalla morte di stelle giganti.<br>Il Calcio, presente nelle nostre ossa, ed il Ferro, componente dei globuli rossi, sono invece prodotti dall'esplosione di supernove.<br>L'oro, l'argento ed il platino, che ritroviamo nei nostri gioielli, si sono formati dallo scontro di due stelle di neutroni.<br>Pensare che la combinazione di semplici elementi "stellari" possa aver dato origine alla vita, è semplicemente sorprendente.<br>Credits foto: NASA - Goddard Space Flight Center</p>]]></description>
