1. Station #1: Magnet Madness
TEK: K.(7)- Force, motion, and energy. The student knows that forces causes changes in motion and position in everyday life. The student is expected to describe and predict how a magnet interacts with various materials and how magnets can be used to push and pull.

Materials: Two magnet mats (one for magnetic and the other for not magnetic), magnet, basket, and a variety of materials.

Instructions: I will lay out the two sorting mats. Then get all participants to take turns choosing an object from the basket. They will use a magnet to test if the object from the basket is magnetic or not magnetic. If it is magnetic place it on the green mat. If it is not magnetic place it in the red mat. They will continue testing the materials until there are none left.

Amount of people in each station: 5 people (give about 5 minutes to do this station)

Safety Rules: Be careful when using sharp objects.
Follow instructions.

2. Station #2- Observable Properties
TEK: 1.6A- Classify objects by observable physical properties, including shape, color, and texture, and attributes such as larger and smaller and heavier and lighter.

Materials: A handout and a pencil/ pen

Instructions: Circle the words that describe each object. Write one word of your own to describe it.

Amount of people in each station: Five people ( Given five minutes to complete this station)

Safety Rules: Be careful with getting paper cuts. Follow instructions and ask any questions.

3. Station #3-
TEK: 2.12B- Create and describe food chains identifying producers and consumers to demonstrate how animals depend on other living things.

Materials: Print out four arrows and five photos (flower, butterfly, frog, snake, and eagle)
Instruction: Five participants will participate in this station. Each participant are each unit of energy. They will begin at the flower. Allow the participant to follow the path following the arrows. This activity allows students and families to learn the energy is transferred.
Amount of people in each station: Five people for this station. Will give them five to ten minutes.
Safety Rules: Be careful when walking around. No running while doing this activity. Follow and listen for instruction and directions before starting on this station.

Station 4- The life cycle of a plant
TEK: VI.B.2- The child describes life cycles of organisms. The child observes, records, and discusses that stage of the life of an organism such as a baby, dog, cat, and chicken.

Materials: Poster board, white and orange yardstick paper, shredded brown paper, black, orange, yellow, and red marker, google eyes, washable red paint, and glue

Instruction: A staff will give out an egg shape, already cut out for each participant. And a poster with the "Life Cycle of a Chicken" written in the center of the poster.
Place the egg on top and tell each participant about how chickens start out as an egg. Then make a little nest by putting glue all over and adding shredded pieces of brown paper.
After the nest is complete, our staff will give each participant a small oval shape out of paper and glue it on the nest. Then give each participant a larger egg out of paper and glue it on the poster and draw jagged edge circle on the egg to represent the egg hatching.
Then use another oval egg shape to make a baby chick. Finally to make a grown chicken, each participant will cover their hand with red paint and place their hand on the poster board to make a handprint. Add googly eye and draw on the feet, beak, and waddle. Also, add the outline of the wing with black marker.
To complete the chart, add arrows between the stages to show the cycle of a chicken.

Amount of time for this station: Give 10-15 minutes to each participant to work on this station.

Safety Rules: Listen and follow instructions before starting. Pull hair up and any long clothing away from getting stain from using paint. Always ask questions.

Station 5- Sort Before You Recycle

TEK: V1.C4- Child demonstrates the importance of caring for our environment and our planet. The child discusses "green" practices (water conservation, clean air, recycling, etc)

Materials: Glue, Printed out photos, four empty toilet rolls

Instructions: A staff will give each participant some cut pictures of the recycling bins and the participants will attach them on the empty toilet rolls. Then cut out holes on each recycling bin. Finally, cut out the pictures of different types of trash. During this activity, get all participants to sort the items to their different materials: plastic, metal, plastic, glass.

Amount of time for this station: Give participants 10 minutes for this activity.

Safety Rules: Use very raindrops of glue. Ask questions. If you need help ask an adult or the staff around you.
