I would consider joining the ENA if I plan to work in the Emergency Department post-grad. The membership offers continuing education, certification discounts, networking opportunities and advocacy support, all of which could help advance one’s career. Beyond just education, the ENA provides a sense of community. As a new nurse, you can connect with experienced professionals through networking events and the ENA connect platform, which is a great space for sharing advice, mentorship, and sharing experiences. These connections can make your transition into emergency nursing smoother as you advance into your career.

The ENA also advocates for workplace safety and improvements in patient care, which directly affects your day-to-day work environment. Overall, joining the ENA after graduation helps build your expertise, find a professional community, and pave the way for a fulfilling emergency nursing career.
