1. Our group participated well and agreed on most topics. Everyone was listening well and respected others. 2. I think our group can improve on interruptions and agreeing to disagree. We might also need to work on staying on task during some times. 3. Well, all of us were very surprised to have many similar answers and the same thoughts.
-Your group has no specifics for #3.

1.) Our group gave insightful ideas and everyone participated and listened.

2.) We could have given longer ideas with more examples.

3.) We went deeper when we talked about how Max and Claire were enemies and allies in the face of stress because they went to schools with different languages.

1. We shared our thoughts and made sure everyone got at least one chance to speak per question. We also were mostly cooperative.
2. Next time, our group can improve on using the sentence starters provided, and not interrupting.
3. We went more into the question on Chapter 6. We discussed how Madame Pauline criticized and was racist to Muslims. "Those Muslims". We went deeper by elaborating more on why Max was intrigued and why people were and are racist towards them by believing their countries were full of wars and terrorists.
-Really great job of explaining #3!

We shared ideas, referred to the text, added to each other's thoughts, and were polite. We could all work on SLANTing toward the speaker and not looking at our books while others share. One great discussion we had was about the quote about kindness and fairness. We went deeper and really connected it to our reality and personal experiences. We talked a lot about that question.

1. Everyone in our group collaborated, participated, and listened respectfully to each other. We also made thoughtful insights and thought deeply about the questions.

2. Next time, our group could improve thoughtful debates and be more enthusiastic. Maybe add in a bit of more participation.

3. The one and the only debate that we had was about whether Max was an orchid flower or not. One of us said that he wasn't, and another person said he was, and we had a deep discussion about that topic. We had many Aha moments where someone made a point, and another person who hadn't thought about it agreed with the thought.

Our group was listening to other ideas and open to them. When we disagreed, we used polite sentence starters. Additionally, we waited until others stopped talking, and we had an organized discussion.

We would try to keep on topic, for example, we were supposed to talk about orchids, and we got slightly off topic. And we would like to encourage others to share out oftenly.

We referred to the text, and that showed a lot more deeper thinking. We debated about how Max felt about his sibling (Claire), and we all quickly agreed on it. Yusen was able to add more ideas on that question. We all added on to our answers. We understanded deeper after the conversation.

--

1. We were really good at collaboration, had a great attitude, and had pretty good ideas (which we added on to them and made even better ideas!).

2. We could work on not interrupting others when they are speaking, which had the most room for improvement.

One part where we had an "AHA moment" when we discovered that Allah was actually a god, where we discovered that fact by adding on to our ideas. But learning that Allah was a god, we were able to infer what the author was trying to tell us.

3. We all had different ideas; like "Kindness is a choice, but something that everybody has to do to make it true." That was how we got more insight, since our minds were open to new opinions.

1. Everyone participated, used the sentence starters, and contributed thoughtful responses!
2. We can pay better attention to others and not interrupt others to improve next time.
3. We had different interpretations of question five, "Allah judges what is fair. You must judge what is kind." One of us thought that you cannot control what situation you are in, but you can control what you do to respond. Others had different ideas.
