This is a statue of Donatello, a very popular artist who was well known for the sculptures that he had created in the Early Renaissance. He was receiving a lot of reputation for his "Larger-than-Life figures". His style of art was unique, he would create statues which would give a new science of perspective, in which they would create art that would occupy space. His sculptures also would show very accurate emotions, sorrow, joy, and suffering; not only would this appear in their faces, but the body as well.

This is Donatello's first bronze relief(A relief is when the sculpted structures stay attached to the material that they are created from). I feel like this piece is very important to use to as alongside some of the most notable sculptures that Donatello has done because it is a great example of Donatello giving the new science of perspective, you can tell that he used a linear perspective. This same perspective will be used later through out the Renaissance.
