The dictionary and the thesaurus would be with me just for the simple fact that if i was stranded theres not much i could do so i might as well expand my vocabulary. As a child i had trouble with fully annunciating words and would often stutter when i would get frustrated. That if you read books that you found interesting you'd become a better reader and in turn that also would flow into your writing.
