we used the big seven, we first found out what 10 groups of 35 was it was 350, the we subtracted 850 by 350 and it was 500, then we took out another group of 10 out of 35 and subtracted 500 by 350, we then got 150, so we couldn't take out another group of ten out of 35 so we took out three ones out of 35 and subtracted 150 by 105 and got 45, then we used 1 from the 35 and then we subtracted 45 and 35 and got 10, and that was our remainder then we added 10+10+3+1=24 that was our final answer so in fractions it would 10 and 35.

Explanation: First we did the division algorithm way. We first did 10 times 14 we got 140. Then we did 14 times 5 which got us 70, and we discovered that we could have had one more group of 14. Since there was no more left over. Lastly, we added 10, 5, and 1 together to make 16, so the final answer would be the rectangle's length would be 16 meters. To check our answer we did the Big 7 Strategy. We multiplied the 14 and 10 together to make 140. We subtracted 140 from 224 to get 84. Then we did 14 times 5 and got 70, so we subtracted that from 84. We realized we could have used one more group of 14. We added the 10, 5, and 1 together to make 16.
By: Sarah and Elizabeth

We used the partial products strategy. First we did 75 x 10 and got 750. Next we did 75 x 20 two times. After all that multiplying and subtracting we where left with 600. Then we did 75 x 8. Our final result was 58.

Our second strategy we did is we multiplied 24 by ten to get 240. Then we multiplied 24 by five to get 120 and 240 + 120 = 360.

We first did a big seven strategy and as you probably already know it your doing multiplication and subtraction. Then our second strategy was multiplicating the 35 by 20 and we got 700 then we multiplied 35 by 4 and we got 140 and 700 and got 840. Then there was a remainder of 10 so we put it in fraction form and got 24 and 10/35
