Directory Rule was a group of five group men who were followed after the Reign of Terror and had been with the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte as the emperor of France. Because of the economic crisis and stability, they were overthrown as time went by.

This Constitution had also established certain rights and protections laws for only specific people. The poorer status citizens were not as cared for under the law.

The creation of the National Assembly was created during the French Revolution when a group of the three Estates of the realm agreed to work together to reform the French government. These groups were the clergy, the nobility, and the common people. They were originally “ National Constituent Assembly “ but shortly after changed the name. After 2 years in 1791, they were replaced by the Legislative Assembly.

France became a constitutional monarchy with a uncameral (having a single legislative chamber) legislative assembly that was controlled by the bourgeoisie. 

The significance was that all titles of nobility were removed, abolished and outlawed all future titles. France also was divided in 83 departments that were all responsible for enforcing national legislation at their discretion.

Louis XVI and his wife Marie Antoinette attempted to escape France to avoid approving the new constitution. They also wished to raise a counter-revolutionary army with foreign support. But in the end, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were captured and became prisoners of the Parisian Mob.

The working class wanted to arm themselves over fear of the King’s army, so a mob of them stormed the Bastille, preeminent prison, and the armory in Paris.

The Storming the Bastille was a significance because the mob beheaded the prison’s governer and the mayor of Paris and took all the weapons and gun powder.
