Dear Senator Stabenow,
My family likes to go fishing every summer. I don't like fish but I like spending time with my family. However, according to the text “plenty of Fish in the Sea maybe not” “overfishing could lead to certain species of fish being wiped out entirely. Shrimp, salmon, cod, tuna, and many more could become extinct in less than 30 years”.Fish help provide oxygen and fish are important to the food chain. Fish is also a supply of food for a lot of people all around the world.

If all fish died it would be very bad for many businesses. For example, if many species of fish died, many people around the world would be losing a very valuable food supply. Also if we lost all fish it could affect the entire food chain greatly because a lot of sea animals rely on eating fish. Overfishing is also terrible because with overfishing there is also more bycatch which catches unwanted fish and they usually die during that. In addition, that causes the population of fish to decrease.

Senator Stabenow, one way you could help is by decreasing the catch limit of fish. Also you can have people use more fish farms instead with a fish farm you will not have to worry about bycatch. By decreasing the catching limit allowed you can help keep the sea become more healthy for Washington and the world. Using fish farms is also good for soil because it will make the soil more moist.

Senator Stabenow, if you were to make a speech and try to convince more people to stop overfishing it could possibly persuade people to stop. In addition, you could help by convincing people to use fish farms instead of fishing at sea. Senator Stabenow I know you care about the Ocean so please take action or the entire population of fish could be gone.

Sincerely, Wiley Beggs
