         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Summary:</strong> The Supreme Court ruled that racial segregation in public schools was unconstitutional.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Summary:</strong> This federal law banned discrimination against people with disabilities in any program that receives federal funds this includes public schools.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Who It Impacted: </strong>All students with disabilities in federally funded schools.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Analysis:</strong> Section 504 established the idea that discrimination based on disability is illegal &amp; protecting students’ rights nationwide.
