At the beginning of the book, she is your typical popular girl. Doing whatever she wants and rarely dealing with the consequences. However, after she dies, she becomes more careful, talks to people she doesn't know, reconnects with her family, and tries to help someone in need. She doesn't always do it quite right, so she keeps reliving the day. However, she slowly begins to figure things out and understand just what she has to do. Throughout the book, Juliet Sykes shows more and more significance. To begin, she is just the unpopular girl that everyone picks at, calling her "psycho". Later on we learn more about her, such as the fact that she used to be best friends with the most popular girl at school. But it was also frustrating. There was so many times that you thought the book would end, and maybe this time she would change the past and end up still alive, but a completely changed person. However, it never ended up this way. There were also times where it seemed like she had accomplished her goal, that she had done what she needed to do to cross over (without having drastic consequences).
