A good night’s sleep is a precious commodity in our busy world. It rejuvenates us and gives us a new lease on life!

For our group projects, let's help people understand, realize, and share St. Paul’s Mission, Priorities, and Vision.

Hi everyone – There were some questions about our homework so I added some words around the photos in my visual story (posted), to help explain the homework assignment/concept.

As you follow the words and related images, you’ll see how they come together to create a narrative related to sharing the message of unconditional love. 

Please note! You don’t have to add words to your photo, just be able to speak to the narrative that your photos create.  We can share the work talk through any challenges in tonight’s session.  See you then!

    The cross reflects the passage of time. It's chipped, faded, and weathered by nature’s elements. The photo reveals a history that speaks to the seasons it's endured.

2. How did that imperfection add to its beauty or meaning?

    The cracks and wear on the cross seem to amplify its resilience and character. Rather than taking away from the cross, they add layers of meaning—each blemish suggests endurance, strength, and a story. Its weathered state feels authentic and timeless.  It depicts a sense of vulnerability.

3. How has this exercise helped you see beauty in brokenness?

    This exercise encourages looking beyond the surface, recognizing that beauty isn't about flawlessness but about authenticity. Through the worn mosaic, I see the brokenness as a part of a journey—beautiful, necessary, and even sacred. It reminds me that things don't have to be perfect to have value and meaning. Just like our faith.

4. How may these imperfections symbolize your life or faith?

    Like the cross, my life and faith have many cracks and worn places—moments of doubt, loss, and growth. These "imperfections" aren't signs of failure, but they are part of my journey. They tell a story of resilience and transformation. They remind me that our faith, like the cross, serves as strength, embraces my frailties, and finds grace through them.

John 10:9-10.

“I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”

As the sun sets on our church each day, it reflects the way God's light transforms our vision and our hearts--even in the shadows.

Just as we are learning to be present, open, and attentive to the beauty we hope to capture through the lens, our faith invites us to “be there” with open hearts, ready to see God’s unconditional love at work in our lives.

Like photography, faith is a practice of showing up, observing, and staying receptive to the gifts, grace, and unconditional love surrounding us.

What act of unconditional love--big or small--can you capture through your lens today?

Faith can be like that, too. It invites us to look at life from new perspectives, seeking understanding beyond what’s immediately visible. Just as shifting your lens can reveal beauty in the familiar, faith helps us see situations, people, and even ourselves with greater depth, leading us to insights and truths that may not be visible from our usual angle.

I was wondering if anyone in your small group would be interested in taking pictures of children with Santa on December 14 from 1-3? I have a camera in which the app gets downloaded on their phone and prints out immediately.

Just let me know as soon as possible if anyone could help with the photography.
