It is great to have you! I am looking forward to this semester. Intro to Gerontology is one of my most favorite courses to teach. It is FULL of things to review, consider, and ponder. It's a very thought-provoking class...or at least I think so. Yet, I believe it to be an enjoyable class, too. A little bit about me...I've been an Adjunct Instructor for several years at Nash CC. I am married to my high school sweetheart, Cameron. Although, we took a 20 year hiatus and reconnected...bringing us to a total of 4 kids! Nick (almost 17) and our musician is looking toward the Army in a couple of year; Ashleigh (almost 16) is my special needs child. She has a rare genetic disorder, neuro disorder, Autism, and etc. (yet...she's very high functioning); Riley (12) is about to begin middle school, enjoys video games, basketball, and hanging out with his Mom (but he won't admit that anymore lol); and Gracie (10) is our spunky 5th grader who loves anything Paris, but can get muddy with the rest of the boys. We have a pug, Buddah, too. We are a very busy family. My grandmother, (80-this December), lives across the street and defies the stereotype of most elderly women. She's a strong influence for my passion for the elderly. My full-time position is an Assessment Team Supervisor with a local government agency who helps bring individuals with Developmental Disabilities onto the Innovations Waiver. (I'll be glad to share more info on this in class). I wear a lot of hats, but I love the social work/human services field. I have been a part of it for 20 years now. Please share your story!!!

I waited a little while before going to college. I think it was the best decision for me, because I grew as a person.
