Setting:  It takes place on a island in the pacific. These British schoolboys are stranded on a deserted island with no adults. This island is tropical and has a jungle and beaches, and a mountain. Throughout the book, the setting is in different parts of the island.
Theme : The overarching theme of Lord of the Flies is the conflict between the human impulse towards savagery and the rules of civilization which are designed to contain and minimize it.
