She was from Turin and later moved to Florence when she was five years old. In 1895 she moved to France and was nicknamed Nina. In her early teens she started as an intern at a tailoring shop and was always wanting to be involved in the fashion world. She married Luigi Ricci who was a composer and jewelry designer. After four years of marriage, she joined Raffin, a fashion house, for about two decades. She then became a partner for Raffin and branched out to create her own design company. She was ambitious and eager to create designs under her own name.

With this event, Europe and the United States turned their heads at the Ricci label making Nina and Robert more successful than ever.

This dress was photographed for L'Officiel. An optional wrap that ties around the neck. The bodice is fitted to the body to hold the dress in place that also keeps the outside structure third dimensional. There is a very dense application of beadwork through the upholstery which makes the body of the dress stand out.  The skirt itself is voluminous and the lining has the same fabric as the exterior.

It is made from fine black wool that has a silk finish to it. The fabric used is help to support the stress and to define the wearers physique. Each sleeve is placed at the top of the shoulder and is meant to have a small poof to it. The strap of the handbag is crossed over the one shoulder and down to the hip. It is made from silk textured ribbon that has a flat bow at the top of the shoulder. The bag itself has a small blue color to make it stand out.
