They can influence the number of visitors and their length of stay, authorise air landings and allow the building of facilities such as hotels. They are involved in planning, funding and building infrastructure projects related to tourism such as airports. They also play a major role in ensuring the safety and security of the sites that tourists frequently visit. This will attract more tourists coming back to the country as the facilities and infrastructure are well developed. The tourists will have a sense of security in the country and they will be more attracted to visit the country again. For example, the Singapore Tourism Board is a government agency that promotes Singapore as a tourist destination.

-Government

I feel that the government is in charge of promoting tourism in the country. They are the ones that control the use of infrastructure and and the facilities in the country. For example, Singapore's economy mostly relies on tourism, that is why the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) promotes Singapore as a tourist destination, thus the STB is in charge of facilitating the tourism industry in Singapore. An example of tourists industries is the River Safari, the River Safari is the third attraction of the Singapore Zoo after the Night Safari. It is made so that tourists and even locals could enjoy the wildlife in Singapore. This is developed by the STB because of their aim of developing Singapore to be a leading tourist destination. Therefore, overall in a country the government is the one that mainly facilitate and promote tourism making it more profitable for locals and even create more job opportunities.

-Media
The media is the ones that influence tourists to visit the country. Most of these media are the news, virtual articles and tourist apps. These examples mostly wants positive reports so that tourists could consider visiting the place but mostly they want to know more about it, that is where tourist apps comes in. An example of one of these tourist apps is TripAdviser, it is a website or app where they gives information of the location whether it is available for handicaps. It is also available for food outlets which they provide whether they are deemed Halal or not. These actually helps the tourists to consider places where they never been before. Therefore, with media, it will influence the tourists decision to visit.

-International Organisations

I agree with the statement. Planning authorities have a important role for the beneficial of the country. There are three authorities that a country needs, these three are government, media and international organisation. The first greatly impact on the country is the government, the government role in the country is to ensure the safety of the country. For example, if the country have a low rate on security in the country, the number of tourist visiting the country will decrease as they think that the country is lack of security that make them feel insecure. Therefore, government have a important role keeping the country safe and secure.
The second authorities is media. In the century of technology tourist uses internet to slightly understand the country they visit, through news tour websites and etc. For example, a news that said that the country have a recent attack by criminal. Tourist will start to think that if the tour is worth it or not. Therefore, media is also one of the authorities that can affect the movement of tourism.

They also play a major role in ensuring the safety and security of the sites that tourists frequently visit. Their involvement in catering to the needs of the tourists can influence the number of visitors and their length of stay as they had to ensure the destination would be appealing to them. The Singapore tourism Board (STB) is a government agency that promotes Singapore as tourist destination. It aims to develop Singapore as a leading tourist destination for leisure and business in the region. As such the STB has encouraged the development of new attractions, such as River Safari and the Integrated Resort. As a result of active involvement of the government to promote tourism such as through the opening of new attraction, it is able to appeal to the tourists and attract them to visit Singapore as their choice of destination.

Media refers to the channels through which news and information are communicated to the public, such as television, radio, newspapers and the internet. The types of reports can influence the decision of tourists to visit the area. Positive reports such as good shopping opportunities can encourage tourists to visit while negative reports such as incidents of violence can deter visitors. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) stated that the number of tourists visiting the popular winter sun destination will drop by 900,000 over the next six months after reports by the media on the country's political turmoil and violent protests was made known to public in 2014. Hence, the types of information provided by the media can influence the tourists’ decision to visit a destination.

International Organization comprises a group of countries which work together for a common purpose. Reports produced by the international organization can encourage or discourage tourists in visiting a place. When the leading authority for health within the United Nations system, the World Health Organization (WHO) provided situation updates and health advisories on avian influenza (H5N1) from 2003 to 2013. Such information discourages tourists from visiting at risk countries. Thus, this shows that international organization is capable of influencing global tourist’s behaviour in the planning of their trips.

As a result of active involvement of the government to promote tourism such as through the opening of new attraction, it is able to appeal to the tourists and attract them to visit Singapore as their choice of destination.

MEDIA

INTERNATIONAL ORGANISATION

International Organization comprises a group of countries which work together for a common purpose. Reports produced by the international organization can encourage or discourage tourists in visiting a place. When the leading authority for health within the United Nations system, the World Health Organization (WHO) provided situation updates and health advisories on avian influenza (H5N1) from 2003 to 2013. Such information discourages tourists from visiting at risk countries. Thus, this shows that international organization is capable of influencing global tourist’s behaviour in the planning of their trips.

I disagree that the planning authorities has the most influence in ensuring sustainable tourism in the country as there are also Media and International Organisation that also affect the sustainability of tourism.

The government play a crucial role in promoting tourism as they are directly involved in planning, funding and building infrastructure that are connected to tourism. Government also ensures the safety and security of sites that tourist often visit. They set up agencies that plan strategies to help promote tourism in their country, strategies such as marketing campaigns and promotional events. Example of what Singapore government has done are that the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) help to encourage Singapore as a tourism destination, they also develop tourism as an industry, facilitating tourism related businesses to invest in Singapore. STB encourage the development of new attraction like the river safari and Integrated resorts. By doing these, tourism in Singapore will be largely promoted as tourist will come to Singapore and going back with good memories made in Singapore this will make tourist want to come back to Singapore

Media is also another group that ensures sustainable tourism. This is because media communicates with the public by social media like television and newspaper, by spreading good news and attractions made in a country, people from other country will know about it and soon travel to Singapore, People who travelled and wants to talk about their experience can post their positive personal experience on the internet.

Finally the International Organisation also ensures sustainable tourism. They are people from different countries that work together for a common purpose. The committee meet up to actively promote tourism and they address economy , employment issues. The group promotes tourism as a way of spurring economic growth and environmental sustainability.

Government plays an important roles in promoting tourism. Government plays a crucial role in promoting tourism in their country. They can influence the number of visitors and their length of stay, authorize air landing and allow the building of facilities such as hotels. In general the country recognizes that the duties of the public sector must cover such matters as health, safety, fair trading and consumer interests and infrastructure in transport such as roads, railways and ports. These are all matters of direct concern to the resident population. There is a mixed record in the provision of leisure facilities, environmental protection and conservation which includes responsibility for the unique cultural heritage. This are some ways government can plan their strategy. Whatever form of organization or degree of devolution in the state’s role, it is essential that the public authority, central or local government should agree an overall strategy. This should be reinforced by an outline plan or guidelines, to present a coordinated picture of the destination’s future shape as a tourism area, both at national and local level. This may apply at regional level where the regional destination is in fact an accepted tourism entity, for example the Lake District or the Norfolk Broads in England.

The state tourism agency, tourist board or government department will have an important role to play in advising on the strategy, offering opportunities to consult and cooperate with a dispersed private sector, and preparing a destination marketing strategy based on an identification of the appropriate markets and their needs and wishes. This leads to a product market fit indicating products and services required to attract the preferred visitor traffic. This is a vital role. The market will determine the outcome and the marketers have the essential responsibility to ensure product development to suit the required visitor movement. For example the Singapore tourism board is a government agency that promotes Singapore as a tourist destination.

The STB also to develop tourism as an industry, facilitating tourism related businesses to invest in Singapore. Example of tourism related businesses are those involved in hotels, resorts, cruises and airlines. This are the ways government a helping to promote tourism in Singapore and in various country.

Media also plays an important roles in tourism. Media reports about a country or an area could influence the decision of tourist to visit them. The term media refers to the channel through which news and information are communicated to the public. It includes television, radio, newspaper and the internet. The role that the media is playing in the various aspects of life is becoming increasingly greater each day, especially in spheres like social interaction, and cultural and educational aspects of our life. As archaeological monuments can articulate the traditions, customs and heritage of the past, the media can in its turn clarify today's values and civilizations of the different countries and hence attempt to correct any widespread erroneous information. Both the media and archaeological monuments have messages and missions with various dimensions. The media contributes greatly in activating tourist attractions. Before discussing the role of the media as an instrument in tourism policy, it should be noted that, broadly speaking, the relationship between tourism and the media is one of inclusion. When speaking of tourism policy that focuses on specific areas of tourism, the media become a mediator between tourism and society, meaning that they mediate in a process of conveying tourism products from the producers to the consumers.

Media communications technologies are imperative for frontline investments for sustainable globalized tourism development indicators. The powerful effects of media communications can bring sweeping changes of attitudes and behavior among the key actors in local, national and global tourism for peace, security and sustainable development. The social, cultural, economic, political and environmental benefits of tourism would usher in monumental and historic changes in the country. As the verdict goes, the media has a social responsibility to enhance the blending of local, national and international cultural values for enriched politics, society and economy. Public communications strategy based on access to quality information and knowledge will drive the new global tourism through partnership initiatives such as: peace and security, conflict resolutions for eco-tourism, quality tourism, Joint ventures, technology transfer, etc.

Development in communication is one of the best ways to go in developing eco-tourism. This strategy involves the planned communication component of programmers designed to change the attitudes and behavior of specific groups of people in specific ways through person to person communication, mass media, traditional media or community communication. Positive reports such as the friendliness of the local population, an interesting culture, good shopping opportunities and attractive scenery, can encourage tourist to visit. On the other hand, negative reports, such as those of incidents of violence, disease outbreaks and natural disasters, can deter visitors both immediately and for many years to come.

Finally international organization also promotes tourism. An international organization is group of different countries that work together for a common purpose. Reports produced by international organizations can encourage or discourage tourists in visiting a place. Examples of such organization include the organization for economic co-operation and development tourism committee, the UNWTO and the world health organisation.

The oecd tourism committee meets regularly to actively promote the sustainable growth of tourism, iced member countries come together to address economic, sustainability and employment issue in tourism. The committee also produces guidelines on measuring the social and economic impact of tourism . It also produces analyses of key challenges that affect tourism, such as those that involves employment and local development.
