I chose this artist because while I was looking through a list of famous web designers, his striking surrealist photography caught my eye. His image "Arms break, vases don't" looked familiar to me so I decided to look up some of his other artwork and found them to be just as creative and striking. Some photos like "Face vs. Fist" are interesting because they make you think about what message Johansson is trying to portray or if he's just looking to shock his audience.

1. Erik Johansson is a 30 year old computer engineer from Sweden. He studied Computer engineering at Chalmers University of Technology and finished his studies with a masters in Interaction Design. He specializes in surrealist photography and photo manipulation.

3. The audience of Johansson's work can be anyone with access to a computer or who goes to see his work in an art show. According to Johansson, his work is made to "create surreal ideas realized in a realistic way with a touch of humor maybe" (Johansson)

4. I like Johansson's work. Especially the picture "Arms break, vases don't" which is slightly disturbing but still really cool and I think it could possibly be a metaphor for comparing people to being as fragile as vases, which we usually consider to be extremely breakable.
