I measured my notebook and guessed it was 13.5 inches long. It was actually 10.6.

I liked that I knew the size of the pencil and I used that. I also know that my shoes almost exactly 12 inches.

The pencil warm up really helped me in making my guess because I was able to think about what I knew and compare it to what I decided to measure!

I guessed- 3inches, 8 inches, and 12 inches

I used the pencil referance for the objects that were close to it.
