After the final once-thought final installation to the Harry Potter series, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", readers can once again delve into the world of Harry Potter through the script to the play of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This script follows the lives of Harry Potter's second son, Albus Severus, and his best friend, Scorpius Malfoy, as they travel through time and face off against some of the darkest powers known to the Wizarding World.
I was incredibly excited to pick up this book and highly expected that I would love it just as much as the rest of the Harry Potter series. However, I found myself incredibly disappointed as I began to flip through the pages. Although the characters were lovable and it was truly enjoyable to be reading Harry Potter again, the story line was too bizarre and at times, incredibly lacking.

“The Glass Castle” by Jeannette Walls

The Glass Castle is a about a girl with dysfunctional parents that cared for her and did the best they can to provide for their 4 children. Jeannette was favorited by her father, which was an alcohol problem and he made a promise to give her a glass castle (a home). He made this promise because during Jeannette’s childhood they were poor and couldn’t afford too much. They travel place to place to stay and searched in new cities and countries to find a home, meanwhile people were looking for them because they didn’t have their past payments from their old house. Overall I would recommend this book because it’s entertaining and catches a readers attention with the details added. It’s filled with humor and tells sisuations that’s seem real that you can picture in your head.

This book is about a teenager named Julia who lost her sister Olga in a freak accident and later gets blamed by her parents for her death, and she finds out a lot about her sister such as having a secret life that nobody knew about besides her best friend and everything Julia finds out about Olga is just mindblowing and soon to findout, Olga is not as perfect as her parents thought she was. Julia is the complete opposite from her sister, she wanted freedom and to have a life of her own but her parents always rejected her and she got depression from everything her parents did and said to her. I recommend this book because it can be relatable for some people and the story is full of suspense and mystery. It’s overall an amazing book that was beautifully written. -Sydney Ramirez

Bossypants is about Tina Fey's experiences working in the TV industry as well as being a comedian. She shares many stories about her life as well as stories about her experiences working on SNL and being a writer on 30 Rock. I liked this book alot because of her use of comedy yet relatability. She shared stories about her life growing up as well as the mistakes she made and her embarrassing moments but learned from them and tried to find something positive in those experiences. Something else I liked about this was how she didn't sugar coat her stories and told them how they were, not to make her look better. She also mentions how she overcame the pressure to live up to society's standards

- Isabella Petrillo

The Best We Could Do is an amazing comic book novel that will take you through foreign history and through the lives of Bui's family members. This memoir really caters to a large group of people because we can empathize with some part of her story even if it doesnt completely hit home. It touches upon her concerns about transferring her childhood trauma on to her kid which makes the book relatable to parents or soon to be parents that dont know how to go about being a good mom or dad. Its a topic that we dont read much about so it makes you put things into perspective making you almost want to know your own family past, it incorporates history, beautiful illustrations, and a story to warm your heart. A great read.
-A.C.

“Hole in my life” is about Jack Gantos dealing with not living with his family seeing as he didn’t want to move with them because he wanted to stay in school. It also talks about what he wanted to do after he graduated high school which was to go to college and become a writer seeing as that’s what he loved to do. As the story goes on he makes one mistake that would cost him time in jail. While he’s in jail he talks about his experience and how he matured from it. I would recommend this book because as you keep reading it gets more into detail and there’s times where you don’t even want to stop reading. This book can really catch your attention if you let it.
- yomaira s.

"Hole In My Life" by Jack Gantos

The Hole In My Life is about the hardships Jack Gantos goes through. The struggle starts when hes working as an electrician, and picks the habit of drinking. He moves to Florida with a family friend, but because of his reckless behavior, and drinking hes kicked out. From there he goes on to live by himself trying to discover his identity. He always really knew he was a writer, but he had trouble finding the right words to put down. The book continues to him taking a job as a dope smuggler on a boat for $10,000. He saw it as a good chance to get into college. All of his adventure ends, when the FBI catches up and hes thrown in prison. He has time to reflect on his past and really develops as a writer. I recommend this book, because it really captures the attention of the reader, by the adjectives in the book. When hes describing a feeling of anxiety or joy, you can picture it clearly in your head. Doing this also allows you to connect to what the author is saying, by a time you experienced an emotion like that. The book gives that fun adventurous feeling, as well as the serious tone from when things aren't going smoothly. This is why I recommend this book.
- German Delacruz

The Zookeeper’s Wife by Diane Ackerman

The Zookepper’s Wife is about Antonita of Warsaw,Poland in the times period 1930-1945 and how she dealt with losing her zoo when German forces led by Adolf Hitler take over Poland destroying her zoo. And how she helped many Jewish people escape the Germans. What I love about this book is how everything that was written in the book came from Diane’s diary. And Antonita’s diary as well, also I love how much Antonita loved her zoo animals and they were apart of her family. - Leah DiCaprio

Papi: My Story by David Ortiz is an entertaining and emotional story. From his struggling upbringing from the Dominican Republic and to his ups and down being signed with a team. He became the face and strength of Boston and the Red Sox after the devastating Boston Marathon Bombing. Ortiz talks about the impact of his family and the advice of Pedro Martinez and Manny Ramirez. They’ve all shaped him into the player and person he is today and he pays all attribute to them. This book is the inside look of a Hall of Famer where the statistics say he shouldn’t have made it.

This book was about a man who has gotten into a bad crowd with drugs and is doing a little while behind bars. But behind bars he later realizes he wants to be a writer and tells his feelings about what it’s like behind bars. This story is amazing because you wouldn’t think somebody who acts on bad habits would have a totally different perspective and mindset.
