Evaporation

What happens:
Evaporation occurs when the Sun heats up water from oceans, rivers, lakes, or even the ground, turning it from a liquid into a gas (water vapour).
How it works:
The heat energy gives water molecules enough energy to escape from the surface into the atmosphere. This process removes water from the Earth’s surface and moves it into the air.
Example:
When a puddle disappears after a sunny day, that’s evaporation! The water has turned into vapour and risen into the atmosphere.
