1) Industries have started taking over the forests , for their greed they have started depleting our forests and have made the land barren. They use resources up (trees, water and animals) and when they finish the resources up they move to other land to destroy it . The current status in India, it is really hard to forests because big , rich , powerful company . Earlier, India was rich in forest systems and NOW we are rich in Polluted, barren land of no use !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The current politicians have no concern for their country's ecology and only care about flooding their pockets with money. We see environmentalists along with common people have taken an initiative to protect our environment , The government instead of standing along with them they go against just for money

Answer 1: The vegetation covering the continents has decisive influence on climate, exchanging heat, moisture, momentum, and a variety of chemical materials with the atmosphere. Humans are substantially interfering with this exchange by altering the vegetation cover: on about one third of the Earth's land surface natural vegetation has been transformed to agricultural areas ("anthropogenic land cover change"); on an even larger area the general type of vegetation is kept, but is now managed to some extent by humans ("land management"); and only the rest, a mere quarter of the land surface, remains untouched by direct human influence (although via global climate change, also these regions are indirectly altered by human action).

Question 10 : The earth that we live in has almost died off. It is because we think it is our family inheritance. This mindset has to be changed. We should certainly take as a resource borrowed from our children, who will most probably be born in 10 to 12 years.

Today in our world there is no measures taken to save our earth, if this continues. another hundreds generations deserves to live here, until we undergo evolution and change into some other form of creatures.

Question 9 : By the year 1800, the world population was around 1 million but now it is estimated to be 5.7 billion. Every 4 days the word population increases by one million. This has caused many major problems. Fertility falls as incomes rise, education spreads, and health improves. Thus the development is the best contraceptive. But development itself may not be possible if the present increase in the population increases.

Question 8 : In recent years, considerable interest has been expressed in the evolving role of professional management and the extent to which it should take account of the different interest groups in industrial society. A new theory is now emerging which advocates that the primary task of professional management is to balance or try to harmonise the conflicting interests of the major power blocs in society—the employees, the shareholders, the unions, consumers, the community at large and, in some ill-defined sense, 'the public interest'. More recently, managers have also become deeply pre-occupied with the inherent conflict of interests in their relations with foreign states as a result of the growth in foreign subsidiaries. The justification for this new approach is that it no longer makes sense to talk about the 'paramountcy' or the 'primacy' of the shareholder interest in the very large organisations which account for a large proportion of the nation's productive assets. Furthermore this viewpoint has some solid backing from surveys carried out in both Britain and the United States which show that the vast majority of professional managers no longer feel that a corporation's duty is only—or even primarily—to its nominal owners, the shareholders.

*. What is the status of the earth’s forest systems?
Ans. By the second ,tropical forests around the world is being decimated ,several species of life face extinction as a result of its destruction. The world's ancient patrimony of tropical forests is now eroding at the rate of forty to fifty million acres a year. Large ares, officially designed as first land, "are virtually treeless. The actual loss of forests is estimated to be about right times the rate indicated by government statistics.
*. Explain the statement ‘forests precede mankind; deserts follow.
Ans. ’Due to the greed of man, wherever they go the only thing they leave is languished lands ,eroding everything at the rate forty to fifty million acres of land per year and the growing use of dun for burning deprives the soil of an important natural fertiliser. James Speth once said , " We were saying that we are losing the forests at an acre a second, but it is much closes to an acre-and-a-half to a second" .
*. Has the growth of world population contributed to the bad environment situation today?
Ans. Yes indeed the growth of the world population has contributed to the usage of our natural resources. Fertility falls as incomes rise, education spread and health improves. Thus the development is the best contraceptive. But development itself may not be possible if the present increase in numbers continues.
*. What is the role of industries in the preservation of environment?
Ans.
*. What did Mrs. Thatcher say about man’s lifespan on the earth?
Ans. Prime Minster Margaret Thatcher during the years of her time in the office , none has passed so decisively into the current coin of English usage as her felicitous words: "No generation has a freehold on this earth. All we have is life tenancy with a full repairing lease".
*. What are the four principal biological systems that the author refers to?
Ans. The four principal biological systems are of four - fisheries, forests, grasslands and croplands - and they are the foundation of the global economic system.
*. How are the earth’s principal biological systems being depleted?
*. What is the role of industry in the new era of responsibility?

*. We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers; we have borrowed it from our children. Discuss.
Ans. It means that we have to take care of our environment right now so that our children won't have to face the consequences of our destruction and our pollution. It also means that the earth is NOT ours to do whatever we want without the knowledge and care of knowing the consequences.

Ans 1:- Forests these days are deteriorating fast , a lot of people rely on the forest for their daily needs. A lot of people exploit the forest and its trees thus leading to the depletion of forests all around the world.

Ans 2:- This phrase indicates that with the presence of human all that nature had build over a million years were slowly deteriorating and if this continues, the forests are destined to become the deserts of the future.

Ans 3:- Increase in population means an increase in demand of food resources. More food resources demand more farmland and more farmland means increased clearing of forest land. Depletion of forest land , as we all know leads to a variety of problems. Hence we can conclude that the increase in population eventually leads to complex environmental problems.

Ans 4:- Industries play a very negative role in the preservation of the environment. Most industries contribute a variety of harmful gases and liquids. However not all industries are this way an d some industries have taken up the responsibility of being a more green company and taking up initiatives like planting trees, but most industries are still to come to this way and still have a bad impact on the environment.

Ans 5:- Mrs Margaret Thatcher told during her Prime ministership that people life are on lease and that they would not get their freedom. They are exempted to do anything.

Ans 7:-The biological system of mother earth is being depleted gradually. The Oceans are being polluted by wastes and dump of chemical waste

Answer 1: Earth's tropical forest is now eroding at the rate of forty to fifty million acres a year. As the fuel wood demand has increased gradually, deforestation rate has also increased approximately deforestation at the rate of an acre per sec has increased to an acre and half per sec.

Answer2 : History tells us that first forests were formed. Animals were formed after it. Human have evolved from animals. Due to human's demands forests have been cut and made the forest area, desert land. This signifies first forests, then humans, due to which deserts followed.

Answer3 : There can be no doubt that the growth of world population is the strongest factor distorting the very well being of forests. Due to the increase of population the demand grows as well, this leads to deforestation.

Answer 5 : Margaret Thatcher said that "No generation has a freehold on this Earth. All we have is a life tendency-with a full repairing lease"

Answer 4 : Industries are taking pollution control measures in order to become environment friendly. They also recycle and reuse in large scale.

They have also depleted most of the natural resources. For which has resulted we living in a land of no use.

Ans 2 - Forest are very essential for sustainance of various species. all the industrial acts have converted forests into deserts.

Ans 3 - Ofcourse yes , Growing population nowadays takes up more space and leading to increase of needs.
All the resource might come to an end and it will be difficult for the upcoming generation to survive if not used wisely.
We need to take initiative to learn to conserve our natural resources and preserving it for our future generations.

Ans 4 - Industries are urged to do campaigns and take better steps towards preserving envirnoment due to the overuse for their needs.
Recently they have been doing some of the steps mentioned below.

> Conserving Water
> Use Sustainable Energy
> Being Energy-efficient and Eco-friendly
> Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Ans 5 - Mrs Thatcher told during her Prime ministership that people life are on
