I have never truly enjoyed country music all that much, especially with todays artists. I find that it promotes a type of thinking that some could consider detrimental to what music is trying to do. It promotes a type of simplistic outlook on the world and doesn't allow for many enlightening thoughts to occur. This isn't true for all country, I might add, but I have found that it is, for the most part. This specifically can be found in the band "Florida Georgia Line". I haven't found one song that I don't despise. I find their music obnoxious and irritating. They take all the good qualities that can be found in country music such as: the lyrics (at times) and the relaxing sound of the music. They then replace it with a combination of rap, rock, pop and some aspects of country. They try so hard to be many things at once that they don't fully accomplish any of them. Along with this, their music is simple-minded and has no value for anyone that listens. The ideas it is trying to express, which is that of a small town paradise in which most country people can relate with, can be found in other artists' songs. It is because of these ideas that I refuse to listen to their music.

This song represent the side of country that I enjoy. The style is simple but gives an interesting lesson. It describes the feeling one has when in prison and I feel that many people can relate to this because,in a sense, everyone is in their now kind of prison. This promotes internal-thoughts which then allows the listener to grow as a person.
