I was born in Southern CA, and then relocated to Utah, where we moved between various cities until settling in Layton, UT. (45 minutes north of Salt Lake City).

I am not Mormon, as many people wonder, but I did leave polygamous husbands behind in Utah to start over again. ( J/K)

I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to return to California, this time residing in Santa Barbara. That was over ten years ago and probably the best decision ever made.

After returning to California, I attended the local city college where I received my certificate in Early Childhood Education. I earned my BA in Community Psychology and am now going for my MSW.

3 is plenty for me

My oldest is 15 and has given me more grey hairs than I could have ever imagined.

My second child is 10 and is my sensitive soul.

My surprise third child 7 years old, is the anchor that keeps us afloat. She has a strong personality and is very effective in sharing her thoughts.

What free time you ask, well after working full time, going back to school, and raising three kids. I have finally managed to get some free time back.

Running is something I was able to get back into. I have completed 5 half marathons and a Ragnar Relay. I enjoy just going out for a run and not having a set path but just going wherever I can.

I joined a co-ed soccer team along with a women's league which I play on the weekends.
If I am not playing soccer then we are watching soccer on TV. We tend to watch the teams from Mexico on the Spanish-speaking stations mainly because the announcers are far more entertaining to listen to. However, we also follow the European leagues and MLS. GO LAFC!!!!!!

The beach is our best friend, we are very fortunate to live less than 10 minutes away from the beach. I love just floating in the ocean and collecting natural materials for my work.

Glad you asked because I ask myself the same question. I want to be a consultant and help Early childhood educators, families, and the children they work with.

Santa Barbara might be small, but we have a lot of resources that we can tap into to support the community, and I want to be a part of that.
