Using the online tool Padlet, participants are tasked with creating a digital bulletin board to highlight the crucial importance of having accurate and sufficient information during calamities. The campaign's core message is captured by the hashtag #IbaNaAngMayAlam, a Filipino phrase that emphasizes how being informed can make a significant difference in times of crisis. This project appears to be a school or community-based activity designed to promote public awareness and encourage proactive behavior in emergency situations. The clear directive and specific hashtag provide a framework for a focused and effective campaign.

Caacbay, Wil-oliver B.

#IbaNaAngMayAlam

🌏Safe Community, Informed Community#IbaNaAngMayAlam

✨️Introduction✨️

Being a Grade 12 student, I have come to understand that disasters are a part of life, particularly in our nation, the Philippines. Typhoons, floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and landslides occur at any time. Although these calamities cannot be prevented, the destruction they cause can be minimized if individuals possess sufficient information and preparation.

✨️Why Information Matters✨️

For me, information is the most valuable tool for survival. As soon as early warnings are issued, families immediately prepare and do not panic. Familiarity with evacuation routes and a family emergency plan saves lives. An educated community becomes more solid and united in confronting disasters.

✨️Emergency Preparation✨️

One of the things I can do to assist my family is prepare a "Go Bag." The bag must contain water, ready-to-eat food, flashlight, batteries, first aid kit, clothing, blankets, radio, power bank, and important documents stored in a waterproof container. All these little preparations will come a long way in an emergency situation.

✨️Reliable Sources of Information✨️

I also know as a student how risky misinformation is during disasters. Misinformation causes fear and panic. That is why I think we should always trust sources like government announcements, local disaster departments, and credible news channels.

✨️Conclusion / Call to Action✨️

Knowing is only half of awareness it is being prepared and being responsible. As a Grade 12 student, I want to remind my schoolmates, friends, and community to always be prepared. Disasters can be inevitable, but the damage it causes can be minimized if we know the proper information.

⚠️Let us all remember: being prepared is a sign of loving our families and our future. Indeed, #IbaNaAngMayAlam.

A single piece of information can save an entire family. A clear instruction can guide hundreds to safety. In the face of calamities, information is not just knowledge it is protection, direction, and hope.

When floods rise, earthquakes strike, or typhoons roar, confusion often becomes the greater enemy. But with the right information, fear is replaced by action. Knowing where to go, whom to call, and what to bring means lives are secured and communities remain strong.

Preparedness is more than having supplies it is about understanding what to do. It is about listening to verified updates, following evacuation plans, and spreading only the truth.

During calamities such as typhoons, floods, earthquakes, or wildfires, having enough accurate and timely information is not just important but lifesaving, because it helps people know what actions to take, where to go, and how to protect themselves and their families. Without proper information, individuals may panic, believe false reports, or make unsafe decisions that increase risks during emergencies. That is why communities should always know where to access verified sources of updates, whether through government alerts, local radio, or official online channels. Reliable information also guides evacuation plans, emergency hotlines, and preparedness kits, ensuring that people are not caught off guard. When families and communities value and prioritize information, they become more resilient, more united, and better equipped to face disasters. In short, the right knowledge at the right time truly saves lives and should be treated as a first line of defense during any calamity.

#IbaNaAngMayAlam

Zayin N.
