A significant change that I think has happened to the family overtime would be the structure of a family. Whereas a couple years ago, the nuclear family seemed to be predominant now days, this seems to be changing. There are less two parents families and higher divorce rates all in which have affected the family over the past couple of decades.

A major change that I think has occurred over time is the bonds and relationships between children and their parents. The family used to be more loving and respectful to each other and these days we don't see that as often in families. We see families that are getting torn apart by separation and divorce, we see blended families from previous marriages, we see lone parent families more, and it is really sad that those changes are happening in so many families these days. Another significant change is probably the overlapping of gender roles. This relates to how a family is built. If it is a lone parent family, the single parent is going to have to cover both the father and the mother roles. However, we are still seeing gender roles overlapping in Nuclear Families as well, as there are so many jobs being offered these days that women are working almost as much, if not as much, as the men are. Therefore, the men will have to help with more tasks around the house which used to be more of the mothers' domain.

I think a significant change to the family is what they do and their traditions. For example, families would make it one of their top priorities to have dinner together every night and on holidays. Now, families are so busy with work and kid's extracurricular activities that they just don't take the time to do that and bond any more.

I believe that families have changed over time because in the olden days families use to work together and care for each other. They had a better relationship but, these days there is a higher rate of both parents and children are working, extra curricular for kids and also a lot of divorces are occurring which causes a families to have a poor relationship between the family members.

I think the emotional connection between family members has changed. Thirty years ago before electronics, families actually interacted with each other and played together for entertainment. Parents did not put an iPod in front of a two year old to keep them from crying because they were to lazy to comfort the child. Before, people would have never thought of not sitting together for dinner, or watching a movie by their self instead of with their family. Now a days families rather taking short cuts than form a emotional connection with each other.

Some of the changes that are occurring more frequently now are things such as higher divorce rates, which results in a fractured familial life. Another change is that family members aren't as close as they used to be before technology became so advanced. This can also result in a fractured familial life.

I think that today a emotional, health, economic and the structures of the family today has changed. For economical changes in the family, many years ago only the dad would go and work and make money and the mom would be a stay at home mom or work part time somewhere. Today those roles have flipped in some families. The emotional views in a family too have changed because of technology. Some people think that if a kid is going through a hard time that video games and electronics will work and fix their issues and that they will get over it. Parents provide less emotional support in the modern family today. As for the health side of the family, with many diseases, viruses and different illnesses on the rise it affects the family in many different ways. It changes your whole family life. It may mean that the other parent may have to work or that all your money may have to come in on disability or some other form. It may also mean that you need to change your whole style of life so that you can take care of them. This one is a major change if you do have a sick one in your family.

I think that changes that occur in the family can be affected by a lot of factors, but one of the biggest factors in my opinion is technology, and the creation social media. People become obsessed with having a highlight reel on Instagram, or having the most likes on your Facebook posts, which can be incredibly poisonous for self-image and self-confidence.

I think that something that has changed with families over time and has maybe been harder for families is that when children used to get married and move away from their home, they couldn't go that far because they did not have vehicles but now in this day and age we have vehicles and are able to move as far as we want across the world which can make it harder for families.

One think that i believed has changed over time is the relationship between different family members. Children nowadays do not have time to sit with their parents at all. Family members used to more loving and caring towards each other, which is not apparent that often now. Also now the economic role of families has changed. A few years ago (or a little more than that) only the father would go out and earn for the family. Nowadays we see many mothers also working and sending the children to pre-school. One last thing that I noticed is many family members are becoming sick. Due to these diseases the family has to change their ways. One may choose to live at home taking care of their family their whole life. Families have really changed from how they used to be long ago.
