This first lesson actually helped me understand the USA Tertiary System more as i was previously clueless about the subject. This helped especially more as I have already done prior research and have been left at an impasse for quite a while just thinking of ways on how to enhance the information I have already gathered. These new key points gave me an idea of what step I have to take next to further advance my research about the universitites/college i plan to apply to.

The choices are vast! But we're (aspiring) international students, so one look at that financial aid calculator and you have to re-start all over again. Personally, I'd love to go to one of the Colleges That Change Lives, but most of them only have generous aid for domestic students. Whatever the case, though, it's still worth it to try. You never know where you might end up.

I discovered new things about how similar and different American universities are from the ones here in the Philippines, as well as the important factors to consider when applying to U.S schools, like the acceptance rates and programs they offer.

I realized that when it comes to choosing schools, there are a lot of important factors to consider— way beyond the numerical rankings of the institution.

When it comes to choosing which schools to prioritize, factors that focus on prestige should not be considered but rather the practicality of the option and how it tailors towards you as a learner.

Grateful to have learned about the substantial similarities and differences between the Philippines and the United States' Higher Education.

Today's CPP4 Session helped me realize and even more so appreciate how holistic US Higher Education is, valuing who you are and who you will be as an individual, in the present time and beyond towards the future.

Additionally, the wide array of factors in considering which and where to choose from across diverse choices helped me have a clearer vision of what it entails for us for the next few months.

The US has a vast number of universities to choose from, making the decision incredibly challenging. Today's session taught me that I need to consider various factors in the process. There's still a lot I need to research about universities in the US, but I’m hopeful it will become easier over time. In the end, all I hope for is to get into a university that will be the best fit for me and my career path.

This has been incredibly insightful with so much knowledge acquired about the U.S. tertiary education system besides gathering experiences and viewpoints from fellow cohorts.

Prior to this, I knew very little about the academic structure in the U.S. or what to expect in future CPP meetings. This session has given me a better sense of direction regarding my goals, even if the path ahead remains uncertain. The fog is starting to lift, and I feel more aligned with what I want to achieve.

Meeting all the cohorts is a great and significant experience because I feel less alone in this. I wish to be well acquainted with my colleagues and perhaps even interact with them more frequently in the near future, as I would wish to meet some of them at least someday. mwhehehehe

I've learned the importance of fit when applying to U.S. universities as well as the different types of U.S. colleges and universities.

This session has also helped me see the difference from how Philippine and U.S. colleges admit students and has helped me gain a richer perspective about the process.
