By: Ms. Brady

Subject Matter: Olafur took his house, and engraved it into a book. The reader's mind and body feel connected as they read the book and feel its sense of space. As the reader flips the pages, and moves from room to room they feel a mental and physical narrative of the house.

Artist Influence: Olafur wanted to illustrate how the mind and body are connected as a whole. "We cannot sense our body without consciousness.". The mind senses the narration of the house's story, while the body is still and connected to the chair being sat on.

Artist Appeal: For the mind and body to understand space and movement through moving from the front of the house to the back. "The reader feels mental and physical narrative, resulting in an intensified sense of space, dimensions, materiality and time.".

Materials: Used a laser-cutter to cut 454 even hand-bound leaves (908 pages).
