It updates me on what’s happening around me like news about natural disasters, different issues locally and globally, and also new trends (art, music, films, fashion, etc.) around the world. 

 

The most recent one that’s been going around social media is about a 30-year-old man, a Filipino immigrant in the US that died due to a chokehold used by officers on the back of his neck. After this controversial chokehold, there has been a movement called #AsiansAreHuman where it condemns anti-Asian racism and violence. According to the Stop AAPI Hate reporting center, more than 2,100 hate incidents targeting Asian Americans and related to COVID-19 were reported nationwide between March and June 2020. Many of these incidents go unreported and it happens every day, particularly Asian elders.
