He was really going to get information to help the Jewish people escape the Nazis. Eventually he got caught, and on an April afternoon in 1943 two men came and took him to a Tegal prison. He spent two years in prison, talking to family and friends. After the two years, he was transferred Butchenwald and then to the extermination camp in Flossenburg. One month before Germany surrendered he was hung with six other resistors.
