The cycle of conflict and cooperation regarding slavery contributed to the inevitable Southern seccession through government acts and how the Nation generally handled slavery/viewed slavery. Making something controversial as slavery and surrounding it with more controversy.

This contributed to the cycle of conflict and cooperation by creating the misunderstanding of how the nation was expected to continue growing, by establishing states position (Free or Slave). In turn it also created a physical split between the South and the North. Every time from this point on, the Union was expected to incorporate a free and slave state to satisfy the South and North. Creating controversy and hate between the two sides every time a new territory was annexed into the union.

This contributed to the cycle of conflict and cooperation by allowing the South to spread its influence even more. The North already disliked slavery enough as it was. Allowing the South to leave its states and be able to still express its believes and claim "run away" slaves, pushed the North in the wrong way. Creating distaste between the North and South, all built on the opposing views of slavery.

This contributed to the cycle of conflict and cooperation by setting in motion the hate which has been boiling between the North and South. As the North and anti Slave supporters grew tired of Slavery and the problems it was causing to the Nation. John Brown and others like him knew that Slavery wasn't going away without a fight, and action was needed either by them or by the union. It pushed the South to the edge, giving them another reason to leave the Union, this time had physical evidence of the North's Extremeness. The last thing they needed, was a political leader who agreed with the North's opinion.
