Research Space Technology: Begin by researching space technology that is commonly used in everyday life. Look for examples of inventions or innovations that originated from space exploration.

Choose a Space Technology: After researching, select one space technology that you find interesting or that you think is important for our daily lives.

Avoid Duplicates: Before adding your example to the Padlet, check to see if another student has already shared the same space technology. Choose a different one if needed to avoid duplicates on the Padlet.

Find a Picture: Once you've chosen a space technology, search for a picture or image that represents it. This could be a photograph, illustration, or diagram.

Add to Padlet: Log in to the Padlet provided by the teacher and add your researched space technology along with the picture you found. Write a brief explanation in your own words about how this technology was used in space and how it is used in our daily lives now.

Memory Foam - Ms. Ziba

In 1966, NASA developed an open-cell, polyurethane-silicon plastic material intended for astronaut seats, which would conform to their bodies during the intense forces of takeoffs and landings. This material, known as memory foam, evenly distributes weight and pressure to provide shock absorbency, returning to its original shape when not in use. By eliminating the need for customized seats, this innovation significantly improved astronaut comfort and safety. NASA made memory foam available to the public in the early 1980s, and today, it is primarily composed of polyurethane with additional additives to adjust viscosity and density for various applications. Memory foam is now widely used in products such as mattresses, helmet liners, and various other items.

Source: https://www.nasa.gov/image-article/memory-foam/
