白驹过隙，光阴荏苒，不知不觉中，故乡的除夕也改了朱颜。己亥年正月，我与旧友重游古镇，久立于明代所建的护国庙前，看着威武的外墙和铁闸，只得望而却步。想来只有江南的清风明月，醉里吴音，勉强可以为伴了。庚子年来，我久居重洋之外，偶然忆起故乡风物，多已磨灭不存，又听说某工程的样板战略正在故里推行，更觉兴味索然。转过头来读《封丘作》，蓦然醒悟，原来高适所感慨的故乡除夕，也可以是一个永远都回不去的江南梦寻。
