The kids engaged in our game called, "What's in the bag?". After choosing, they have to tell us where to find these areas or materials in the classroom. Also, we talked about how everything in our class have names including the objects that they see and how each object has a place where it belongs.

Being comfortable, familiar, and secured inside our classroom is one of the things we want them to feel. Knowing where the items are located is one of the step in achieving this goal. Additionally, as the kids choose their own play and discovery, they know where to find the materials and to put them away as well after using it.

As we continue our quest on learning the names that we need to know at school, we took the kids on a tour inside Playworks! They have learned the names of the classrooms and the teachers in these classrooms. They had a chance to meet kids from the different rooms and reminisce some of their favorite activities in the Green room, thanks to Teacher Sen and Bea. Ate Julie, one of our teacher aides, went over the rules when going to the pantry. We also visited Ms. Jo's table, where we put our bags during dismissal, Teacher Gabby's office, and the new Galileo room.

One of the highlights of the week is enhancing their love for music. The kids have tried playing their chosen instruments while doing the circle time with the whole class. Sofia with her rythm sticks that turned into a violin, Belle with her tambourine, Zoe with her colored rice maracas, Celine with her maracas, André with his maracas and tambourine, and Simon with his shaker. While having fun with the instruments, the kids also danced to the beat of their instruments. Also, during at exploration time, Lucas and Sofia danced to the rythm of the song that was playing. Lucas even made a dance floor with magnetic tiles for him and Sofia to dance with.

Another highlight of the week is meeting someone with a special skill. The mother of one of our students have been invited to have a show and tell with her special skill during the circle time of the kids. Before introducing the special guest, we asked them if they know someone who sings in church and mostly they have answered with a "no". Luckily, we were able to invite the mommy of Belle, mommy Yna, and mommy's special skill is singing at their church. Mommy Yna has showed the drills and how they practice before singing at the church. The children were listening and trying to request some songs for mommy Yna to sing. Some requests were frozen songs and monster / cartoon songs and luckily mommy Yna was able to sing those song requests for the kids. The kids enjoyed the activity and they were requesting for more songs.

The children showed us their masterpiece using the easel board, whiteboard markers and chalks as their materials. As they discover the drawing materials they use, they excitedly thought of their favorite characters and toys to draw on the board. With different kinds of favorite toys and characters, Zoe started to draw her own version of her favorite Snoopy. André has also showed us his favorite toydrew her very own version of her favorite character, Snoopy. André also shared us his favorite toy car by drawing it in the whiteboard. Celine also scribbled her way with colorful chalks.

As Lucas and Sofia have their exploration time, they have discovered fun ways to play with magnets. Sofia learned a new way on how to play the magnetic chips while they were in a container. She learned that the magnet wand can be on the side or under the container and the magnetic chips would still connect and move to its movement. Lucas also learned that the metal of the stamp pad can be connected to the magnet wand and it is not easily to be removed or pulled down.

In line with our celebration of Linggo ng Wika, our books for story time for the week are Filipino children's book. There are tons of Filipino children's book in the reading area that the kids loved. For the celebration of Linggo ng Wika, we are lucky enough that we got to invite the mom of Celine, mommy Mikka to read a Filipino Children's book for the class. Mommy Mikka has read 'Tagu-Taguan' a counting book in Filipino and Celine's personal favorite, Ibong Adarna. The children were very excited and amazed with the illustrations of the books as they were pointing to it while the story was being read. With new discoveries for Filipino children's book, we can say that the class surely loved and enjoyed the Filipino children's book.

Making of Pastillas

We have introduced a Filipino sweet dessert that kids would surely love! We have introduced them 'Pastillas' which is a sweet dessert that was made from milk. We have showed them on what ingredients that we need to use in making and how is it made. For the variety of our pastillas, we made two varieties which was the original milk pastillas and chocolate pastillas. When we showed them the ingredients for making, they surely wanted to eat the powdered milk and sugar right away. They enjoyed the making process of the pastillas as they can eat their own pastillas while making it.

We also have introduced them a simple yet classic Filipino drink. We have introduced them a easy to make Filipino drink which is 'Sago't Gulaman'. When we asked them about their idea about sago't gulaman, all of their answers were a 'no' but they were willing to discover the drink. When we showed them the ingredients, they were all excited to make a glass for themselves. When it was time to put the arnibal in the cup, they were all excited and they surely put a lot of arnibal in their cup. As they taste their own sago't gulaman, they were so happy that they made a delicious and sweet drink. They surely enjoyed making sago't gulaman as they were making it with their friends.

As the class ends, we made sure that they receive a little treat from us. The little treat that they received was from a game called 'Pabitin'. We introduced them to a Filipino children's game that they can receive a sweet little treat from us. As we introduced them the game, we told them about how they should only get one as they are sharing the treat to the whole class and they have listened and followed to it. They have enjoyed jumping and getting the treats from our improvised pabitin which is the hula-hoop. After getting the treat, they surely tried it right away and they were happy with their little treat.

It's not celebration of Linggo ng Wika if we don't get to wear our Filipino costumes. During the last two days of the week, we have invited them to wear their Filipino costumes to showcase the beautiful Filipino costumes that we have. As the school prepared for the celebration of Linggo ng Wika, we also have prepared a frame for them to have their pictures taken as they are wearing their Filipino costumes. They were so excited and thrilled to have their picture taken in the frame that we have prepared for them.

As the children have their snack time, we also have invited their caregivers to join us. During our exploration time, we have prepared different toys that can create sound and music. With the different toys that have, it made different sounds. They also made sounds using toys that we didn't provide for them. They used their creativity to make different sounds inside the classroom. After playing and creating different sounds, we have asked them what sounds do they hear inside the classroom. They have different answers as we ask them. As we are discovering different sounds, we have played the sound of a siren of a firetruck and a cry of a baby and we asked them what sound is louder. They have different answers, for some the siren of a firetruck is louder but for some the cry of a baby is louder. During our circle time, we have prepared three different cups with different objects inside that makes sounds. We have asked them which cup has a louder sound and they all answered our question while having fun in their circle time. With the different sounds and music that they heard, they enjoyed creating their own sound and discovering their own sound.

The past few days they have been building blocks with their friends and they are creative with the blocks that they build. Crazy Pizza Day has finally arrived! During the Wednesday and Thursday class, they made their very own pizza! We have showed them on how to make the dough with simple ingredients! As they mix the different ingredients for the dough, they had sticky hands yet they enjoyed every inch of it. We gave them two toppings fod their pizza and those were cooked ham and cheese. As they put the toppings in their very own pizza, they made sure to also taste the toppings. As they were learning to make their pizza, they also learned on how to take turns and wait for their turn as their classmates are using the ingredients and tools for the pizza making. As we finish making the pizza, we surely need to bake it! We showed them to the pantry where we will cook the pizza and all of them were happy, excited and full of questions. They would ask if their pizza will be hot if we put it in the oven and they would also ask if the toppings would spill over. After creating their own pizza, we made sure to let them taste it! We brought out the pizzas during snack time so that they could enjoy it with their classmates. They were so happy and enjoying their very own pizza!

As we finish the week, we surely made it wonderful with colors! During our exploration time, we prepared painting materials for them. We had prepared different colors and different paint brushes for them. They have used different paint brushes and different paints as they fill up the paper with colors! They became creative and used their hands as they paint. They were already enjoying painting but they had more fun and more excitment as they paint with their friends!

We started the week by having a colorful activity. As we introduce a new topic, we let them have a painting activity. We have used different materials like paper and foil that is rolled into a ball like and a pompom ball that that could be used for painting. As we paint, we have asked them if the materials that we use are balls. They mostly answered that the pompom ball only is the ball while the paper and foil is not a ball but it is rolled like a ball like shape.

To our surprise, most of them already know what is a ball and already know some different kinds of a ball like a bouncy ball, spiky ball and a basketball. And as soon as they saw a ball inside the room, they told us what kinds of balls are displayed and they played with it already. Since we had a painting activity, we have connected the activity with the new topic. The painting materials we used are all shaped like a ball and with that we have asked them if they are a ball or not. As we introduce this topic, we saw how enthusiastic they are and excited as they are able to play with the different kind of balls. Since we have different kinds of ball displayed, we have identified it as they use and play with it.

As they already know the different kinds of ball and what are balls, we gave them a little challenge. Our little challenge for them is to identfy if the toys inside the classroom are balls. We also have prepared a playdough for them to identify if is it a ball or not. With their creativity, they have made different artistic creations like noodles, meatballs and pasta. As they made those creative creations, we have asked them if they are a ball and all of them have said that it is not a ball except for meatball. They immediately said meatball is a "ball" because of the ending word of meatball. As they discover about balls, they still had fun and let out their creativity side.

They have nothing but curiosity and excitement as we talk about what is inside a ball.

They saw how pompom balls and pingpong balls can be blown across the table unlike the volleyball and mini basketball.

As we have our story time, we would like to thank and appreciate Teacher Dex's time to read us a story that the kids surely enjoyed! The story for the day was "I don't want to be a frog" written by Dev Petty and illustrated by Mike Boldt. The story was about a frog who doesn't want to be a frog and each page was exciting for the kids. As we almost finish the story, teacher Dex used his loud voice to have the spooky halloween mood for the kids. The kids were all shocked when teacher Dex used his loud voice and all of them were spooked but they still enjoyed the story.

As we continue our investigation with seeds, we did an activity that the kids will surely love! During our Exploration time, we planted some monggo seeds in our classroom. We showed them that monggo seeds can grow with cotton balls as long as there is sunlight and enough water. They were very hands on and very excited while planting our monggo seeds! They also learned the steps and proper way to take care of our growing seed!

As they finish sorting the pictures, we gave them the toy animals to sort! With the toy animals, they sorted it by animals who live on a tree and in the ocean! They had fun while sorting the animals and learning more on where do they live.

As we enter the new year, we also have new topic in stored for the kids to enjoy! As we go on to our new topic, we made sure that the kids will enjoy and relate to the topic. We are now exploring clothes and its different types, colors and style! And as soon as they finish washing their hands, we asked them about what they are wearing. With different types of clothes and design that they have, it was fun hearing their responses. We also prepared a chart for them to personally check all the clothing type that they are wearing. As we explore the new topic, the children already have shown their enthusiasm on it!

It's self portrait time for the kids! Since we asked them about the clothes that they are wearing, we also asked them to draw their clothes! As they look at the mirror for their self portrait they were also sharing stories about their clothes. As they draw their own clothes, they also had fun in identfying the colors that their clothes have! As soon as they finish their self portrait, they excitedly told us to hang their drawings in their art wall!

As we are exploring our new topic, we made them do a dress up activity! We have prepared paper dolls for them to dress up with their own choice of clothing style. We gave them a lot of clothing style to choose for their paper dolls and they did their own mix and match! As they clothe their own paper dolls, they were also giving appreciation to the paper dolls of their friends! They were telling one another that their dolls were looking pretty and amazing! And as soon as they finished their dolls, they excitedly told us to display it on their art wall!

As we have our exploration time, we gave the children some time to explore with the different cloths that we have. As they explore, some of them had questions about if. As Francis held a cloth, he asked us on how shirts are made from the cloth that he was holding. With his question and his piece of cloth, he made sure to tell us that he wants to make clothes! Another curiousity from the kids was from Sofia, she asked us on how do the people make the cloth itself! While Penelope told us that with the cloths that we have, we could make a t-shirt by having layers from the cloth that we have. With just a simple cloth, the interest of the kids was shown and it also showed us on how curious they can get!

With the pieces of cloths we have, the kids have shown their creative side! As we look at the different cloths that we have, the kids has thought of different ways of on how to make it fashionable. As Bambam explore the cloth that she have, she made it as her own scarf and her own belt! As Penelope explores, she showed us that cloths can be used as chokers or scarfs like on how she gave Stephanie a scarf! Penelope also said that the cloth that she have is stretchable! Also, when André picked the cloth with car designs, he told us that he likes the design and he told us on how he likes a shirt with cars! During our exploration time, we have displayed different kinds of clothes. We have shown them a necktie, apron, smocks, vest, scarf, construction vest and tank top. We asked them on how do we wear those clothes and they have answered differently. They told us that their daddies wear a vest and a necktie during they go to the office! They also told is that their mommies use vest also! They have shared to us that we use apron during we cook and we wear smocks for painting time and they are similar of use which is they help us avoid our clothes to get dirty! Here's Simon and Zoe stacking the wooden rocks. At first, Simon was trying out how to stack these rocks, but since they come in different sizes, the rocks kept falling. Zoe, on the other hand, saw what Simon was doing and offered to help him. It took a while before they figured it out, but it was a success. With the different seasons that we have, we made sure to ask them on what season are the clothes best fit in! We have prepared three seasons for them which is summer, rainy and snowy! We let them identify what type of clotges we wear for the different seasons. We have prepared some clothes cut out for them to paste on the paper for each season. As we talk about firefighters, we asked them about what they know about firefighters. They surely do know a lot about firefighters and they know on how to save people and animals with water. As we proceed with firefighters, we played a game named "Who's the fastest firefighter in Sky Blue?". We have given them different stages before saving the animals who are dangered. The stages of the game is focused on their physical, literacy and math abilities. As we go on with the game, we can see on how excited and competitive they are. For the fastest firefighter in Sky Blue, Celine won with a time of 1 minute and 20 seconds. As we finish the game, we all gave them a badge for completing and enjoying the game!

As we end the week with uniforms, we have compared two occupations with special uniforms. We have compared a policeman and a firefighter with their clothes and equipmenta thay they use to work. As we compare the two occupations, we have introduced them to 'Venn Diagram'. We have showed them that they can compare two to three things or occupations with a venn diagram. They immediately understood on how a venn diagram works and we placed their observations on policeman and firefighters on our venn diagram. As we explore sewing, we made them practice sewing with our lacing board. We made the kids choose their own design of lacing board and they all chose according to their interest. As we explore with sewing, we had invited a visitor for the kids to learn more about sewing. Our visitor for two days is Teacher Mitzi of purple room. Teacher Mitzi knows a lot about sewing especially crocheting! She shared her love for crocheting with our kids and taugh them on how to crochet. Our visitor taught them the different materials on what to use for crochet and the kids had surely different questions like what does the hook for crocheting is for and how do we make clothes out of yarn. Our visitor made sure to answer all those questions while she is demonstrating on how could they make their own accessory with crocheting. The kids were very persistent on making their own accessory as they were crocheting different colors of yarn. The kids had fun with the process and they were surely happy and excited to share the outcome of their crochet!

As we explore more about clothes, we made sure to make it more personal for them. We traced their own body in a chart paper to make it as their own mannequin for their clothes. They had come in pairs and took turns to help trace their classmates body. They had a fun and giggling experience as they trace their classmates! As they were tracing their classmates, all of them were laughing because they were having different positions while lying down on the paper and the marker that they used made them feel ticklish!

As we started the week, we surprised the kids with a new toy! We added train tracks and waffle blocks for the kids to explore and enjoy! Even all of the train tracks are already used, with the waffle blocks they still create additional tracks and tunnels! With the toys inside our room, the kids have surely enjoyed building new things! They build houses with the jenga blocks and magentic tiles and they were looking who has the higher house! While building their own houses, they were also talking about the rooms inside the they are building! They were also building train tracks with different materials and they were enjoying building a very long train tracks! Also, with the waffle blocks, Sofia made a card holder for the cards in our board game. When she was playing with the "The Hungry Caterpillar" board game, she noticed that thd cards are a lot and wasn't organized, she initiated creating her own card holder. She was very proud of her card holder and it stayed and was used the whole time they were playing the board game.

They were very patient while listening to the instructions of the game and they were waiting for their turn to play the game. As they play the game, their counting of numbers are practice as they need to move their caterpillars to eat the fruit puzzle pieces. As they collect the fruit puzzle pieces, they need to finish the puzzle to see a beautiful butterly. They were focused and excited to see the result of eating all the fruit puzzle pieces! As we explore, we have made an activity for them to see the different types of trashes. Before we have our active play time, they cleaned the area first by picking up the different trashes. As they pick up and throw the trashes, they have a checklist to see if the trashes were plastic, paper and plastic bottles. They were so excited and happy to pick up the different trashes in the active play area. We can see that they were so excited to finish the checklist and to look for more trash to throw. As they finished the activity, they told us on how many trashes they picked up and threw. They were happy to pick up and throw a lot of trashes!

Another part of our exploration is by visiting the other classrooms in the school to see if they have different kinds of trashes. We started looking at our trash bin to see if what kinds of trashes are inside our classroom then we visited the purple room, pantry, green room, yellow room and bathroom. They also saw the different types of trashes on the different rooms and they were also telling us that it was different from our room. We also prepared a checklist for them to accomplish as we visit and see the different rooms. They were so excited to accomplish the checklist while exploring outside our room. As we finish the activity, they all told us that the different rooms have different trashes and they also told us that our room has a different trash from them. We have also introduced them two types of trashes which is paper and plastic! We prepared different trashes for them to see and identify if which is which. We have asked them to touch and feel the different trashes. As they feel and touch the trash they have told us that paper is soft and they could still write on it. Meanwhile, for the plastic they have told us that a plastic is shiny, smooth and they can't write on it. As we introduce them paper and plastic products, we also have prepared two bins to seperate the plastic and paper products. As we have our snack time, they were so happy and excited to separate their wrappers and they had fun in throwing their trashes. As they throw their trashes they also ask us to see if the products they are throwing is really paper or plastic. They also have a clue if which bin is for plastic and paper, they told us if the product is plastic then the label of the bin is color blue and if the product is paper then the label is yellow. We can see how they have fun in separating their trashes!

As we continue to learn more about our trashes, we invited a guest, Ate Abby. The class askes ate Abby to answer the questions of the kids about where does our trashes go. Ate Abby explained to the class that after a whole day of classes, the teacher aides put the trash downstairs near the streets so that the garbage truck can pick it up! Ate Abby also explained to the class that they collect all the trash from different rooms and combine it so that they could save plastic bags. The kids really enjoyed asking questions and talking to ate Abby!
