A reflexivity statement is a declaration or narrative element where the author or narrator reflects on their own role, identity, or influence in the creation of the text, highlighting the subjective nature of storytelling.

 The reason I chose this pinned artifact is because Nogales, Arizona is where I was born and raised my whole life. I want to show others how much this pinned artifact means to me and the background of it. 

In my reflexivity statement I had a process of talking mostly about my background like where I was from and my family. It helped make my statement more personal to me and had a good flow like I was talking to a peer. 

 Going through my statement again I added and adjusted some of the facts about me that I had put in my first draft. My final draft feels more proper to me and more personal because of how I adjusted it. 

My whole reflexivity statement was really personal to me and it felt good to talk about my background and where I grew up. It also feels good knowing that I can share this with others. 

A borderlands synthesis letter is a letter that I wrote to an author about one of their pieces that spoke out to me. I wrote to the author Gloria Anzaldua about their writing piece on “To Live In the Borderlands Means You.”

I chose this artifact because Nogales, Sonora, Mexico is the town on the other side of the border of my hometown in Mexico. It means so much to me because a lot of my family lives there and was born there. It is a second home to me and I want others to know how much it means to me. 

The reason I chose this text is because Gloria Anzaldua is talking about how much the border means and what goes on in the border. I personally felt a true connection to this piece. When I read the text I immediately knew that this was the text I had to choose and write about.

Using rhetorical analysis on my assignments have really helped me in the process of doing my work and projects. Studying the purpose, context, author, audience and genre helped me understand the text more than I would have by just reading it. 

My research process was very simple in my opinion. I had to look for information about the author and know their background and why they created this text and it was a very interesting process to me. I used all of the information into my letter and it was easier to relate to the author the more I knew about her.

I had a lot of personal connection in the text on “To Live In the Borderlands Means You.” I have lived in the borderlands my whole life so I had a lot of personal experiences throughout the text. Even the background information felt very personal to me.

This Unit was very personal to me and I had a lot of different feelings about it. I do not think I will ever have this opportunity to write a piece like this again. I would love to have another project like this in my opinion.

The artifact I chose is the borderlands digital story because I talked about a lot of information I had recently learned about my hometown border and it was very personal to me.

I chose this pinned artifact because it means a lot to me because I grew up on the frontera so I want to learn everything about it.

I did a lot of research on the border but mostly about the migrants death and how much it actually happens. I learned a lot in my research process like how many migrant deaths happen at the border and how little it is talked about. I have lived on the border my whole life and have never heard of so many migrants dying by border control at the border because of it. 

My style of my storytelling was using personal information about me and my experiences with the border and most importantly how poorly the information about migrants is passed throughout the border. I believed it was best for my audience if I used personal exercise rather than just straight facts.

I had a lot of different personal feelings on this specific assignment . I was just shocked because the more information I read the more I noticed that I had no idea that this was all going on right under my nose. I definitely want to do more research about this specific topic.
