Adhithi

A. Context

Through this MTLEP seminar I was able to learn more about my own culture and various short stories it offers. It was a platform for me to develop myself on my knowledge of my mother tongue language. I also was able to make new friends through this seminar and got to know them better and more about their languages. This was definitely a good opportunity for us to delve deeper into our thoughts of our languages.

B. Key Take-aways

Importance of our language and culture: basically having more pride in who we are and our race. To always stand loyal to our cultural background and heritage roots.

To treasure our language: we should know how precious this language of ours is and only then would we be able to teach this to our future generations

Respect other languages and culture: we were all brought here together to learn to appreciate and embrace our differences.

C. Taking Actions

I would choose to write about the struggles of a student in our day to day life. Like talking about the bullying cases we’ve seen or experienced. The pressure placed on us by our parents and teachers. Not only that but having to toggle between co-curricular activities and our academics. Talk about how some students also face financial issues or family issues which affect their academic performance. I choose to write about this because I hope to bring out the struggles we face as a student. Despite the fact that it seems that all we have to do is study, even that has its struggles that not many adults understand. I would present this in a way that is understandable for anyone to read.

1. I think that this experience helped me know more about literature in Tamil and how to analyse it in different perspectives.

2. Keynote Presentation, Panel Discussion and Talk with the author after Panel Discussion

3. I would write as the authors that came up on panel discussion have inspired me. I would talk about Racism and Racism is not cool, in a form of a short story lasting 3-4 pgs

I would want to focus on mainly 2 things, one is problems teenagers face today as it is something I can relate to and can write more about it. Secondly, maybe problems, discriminations general people face in the world.

2. Issues would be discriminations/ injustice.

3. A message would be to be aware of the discrimations/ injustice and learn to not be the ones causing them.

4.

MTLEP Seminar was a richful experience and i really got a lot of useful things i can use in life, and in my studies too. It made me realize my full potential in both communicating and dissecting the hidden message in the different poems given.

I would write on the main attitudes that today's youngsters have about society. and the way that members of society refer to or treat them. goal is to bring attention to the reasons behind how today's youth are handled. In order to help my readers feel more included and learn more about teenagers and young adults, I want them to have a deeper understanding of their emotions. I might include it in a book or a short tale. Provide all the information necessary for the readers to gain a deeper understanding of the youngsters.

in summary, what i learnt from this program is having deeper understanding of tamil literature, how it impacts others and how it inspires authors to write. i also have a deeper understanding of how to use my surroundings as inspiration for creating a poem, song and a story (etc). my experience was a smooth one as I got to know other literature students from other schools and i got to make new friends as well. it was a really fun experience overall
