My answer is 12. The first thing I did was look at my problem 2 x 6. The next thing I marked how many groups as 2 and how many in one group as 6. I can prove my answer because I saw that I can make groups and come up with the correct answer. I knew there to be 2 groups of 6 so I counted 2 groups of 6 toy soldiers. I counted them and came up with 12 soldiers. I also made 6 groups of 2 to see if my answer would equal 12 and it did.
