The G.I Bill had talked about stuff like buying houses with no money and ways for people to attend college and school for free. A Better Life: Creating the American Dream
The "american dream" was not a standard phase, yet everyone knew what it was. Like how the Puritans believed when a newborn baby is born they are born a sinner and all the puritans knew that. It talks about how the american dream evolved over time and how most Americans all dreamed a similar dream. L.F

This talks about how if you want to be like those people that shine or have that inner light, that you must strive to be that. You must save your own soul to become like that, and strive to be good. This is similar to the puritans view of Original sin and salvation through grace, in that you must do something to get something. Like the way you must seek salvation to gain it through the grace of god. P.N.

A New American Dream: Obama said, in his inaugural address, that in 50 years that there will be changes, changes for good, that that is why we should not give up on the american dream due to this economic issue, that we want to hold on to it because our nation became what it is today only because of those men and woman who believed in the american dream of a better nation. That we should not give up in such a small time of crisis, that we should push through and then, 50 years from now the nation will be better. This reminded me kind of being born again, because we believe in a better life in the future of our nation, and become that that we will be better as time goes on, but if we give up and forget about it, then we will fail. P.N.
