This volcano is named after the villain of the Bantu. Nyiragongo had an enemy named Ryang’ombe. Ryang’ombe lived inside of Muhavura, a large volcano. Out hero Ryang’ombe chased this fiend using a fiery sword. He chopped Nyiragongo’s home, Mount Mikeno, in two, driving Nyiragongo westward. Ryang’ombe chopped off the peak, pushing Nyiragongo in.  Then he piled stones to keep him there.  Every fight that they have, an eruption happens.

Nyamuragira had an erupting and the lava flows toward Mt. Kimanura. As the lava comes closer Kimanura sings.
