There's an old hunter's tale told by the people who live in the Brazilian forest about a weird character known as Curupira.

According to this legend Curupira is a trickster that sets traps for the hunters in order to protect the forest and its creatures. His main traces are his full set of red hair, his acute eyes and his backwards-turned feet.

People are afraid of him and try to escape from his traps by offering him some gifts like beverages and tobacco.
