ENGLISH

Students could enhance language skills and improve their proficiency in reading, writing, speaking and listening: reading what they have been asked to perform; writing their expectations and opinions, many sentences and texts about the different topics carried out, such as introducing themselves, poems, recipes, world special days, a story, imaginative writing, filling out surveys, assessment questionnaires; speaking with the teachers and students from the partner  countries in webinars and chatrooms, interacting fluently.

The project also led them to express their thoughts and ideas effectively.

Students constantly did research to carry out the requested tasks. They developed an understanding of the implications of technology in society and the ways Information and Communication Technology can help in our daily life, namely at work. They learned how to use twinspace, they regularly used twinmail. Through practical help, students were able to use a full range of web 2 tools, such as canva, google docs, google slides, avatar maker, classrroom, answergarden, jigsaw planet, story jumper, linoit, vsdc, padlet, Bitmoji, digital drawing, genially, app inventor, etc. There was indeed an emphasis on developing lifelong skills, which are essential across the curriculum and their future career.

Concerning Portuguese, students translated from English to Portuguese and from Portuguese to English basically, which was undoubtedly fruitful. They learnt to use the right language chunks and idiomatic expressions. They became aware that a language cannot be translated literally. It has to make sense! Furthermore, they improved their vocabulary and grammar when comparing what they meant.

With regard to Geography, students began to realize where the partner countries were located in Europe. They were also asked about their capitals and the language spoken. Then, we ourselves located our own country on the map. Recycling and environment  were also items of the Geography syllabus.

Our project topic has a lot to do with Science. Healthy life means healthy eating. Health and healthy eating are major issues of the Science syllabus, as well as the nutrition plan and the ways to prevent disease. Furthermore, environment and recycling were items covered in Science.

With regard to Maths, there was a poll as far as it concerns the selection of logos and posters for the project. Percentages were studied to verify the winning logo and poster.

The importance of working out was indeed important throughout the project. Students had to follow a sports plan and be aware that it they want to keep fit, they have to do physical exercise regularly.

In the art classes they made the school bulletin board, several posters and logos.

Here in these classes they learnt to accept the difference. Thus, they were really enthusiastic to undertake activities related to the disabled, the visually impaired, Down syndrome… Moreover, a good citizen must also know how to cooperate with others, team work was the emphasis!

- Vocational education subject: This subject is related to the ingredients of the main course and how to prepare healthy meals

- Physical education: making a mathematical argument to build a healthy body- 

Science: the importance of vegetables and fruits and the danger of microbes to our lives- 

Islamic education: paying attention to health and balanced food
