A small pressure-sensing monitor that is placed directly in the pulmonary artery.  The sensor monitors for an increase in pulmonary artery pressure which is a first sign of worsening heart failure.  This hemodynamic data from the device is sent directly to the physician.  The physician can use this information to make adjustments to medications and treatment plans.

    Opinion
    This device could drastically decrease the number of heart failure re-admissions. A reduction in re-admissions is not only a positive for the patient but helps with the financial burden on the hospital for 30 day re-admissions.
