Marco polo made traveling to Asia easy through the silk road and he made many maps of Asia. This is good because it helped many people out. He shared cultures from the east and west. This is good because cultured mixed and people learned a lot about each other. Marco polo was the first person to travel and write a novel about it. This is good because people could learn about his expedition.

“Here people was once used to be honourable: now they are all bad; they have kept one goodness: that they are greatest boozers.” (Quote from marco polo’s book). This painting shows Marco Polo’s ship arriving in asia. You can see how different the ships are then the buildings surrounding them. These points are different because Polo thinks that the people are throwing away their ancient ways, but they think that the people are bringing in weird and foreign ideas into asia.

This changed Asia because they started to use western inspired items in their life. They also adapted the things they were traded.

Took- Since the Polo’s were one of the few to be trusted by the Asian emperor at the time and were one of the only ones to be able to travel to Asia, they brought in many new things/ideas from Asia to Europe, such as the compass, paper, porcelain, silk, spices, ivory, and jade.

One effect would be cultural blending. This happens because people colonize in other countries and share things, ideas, or fall in love. This is positive because cultures spread and became more diverse. Second, the native population went down. This is because many colonizations ended up with war between explorers and natives. This is negative because natives died. We lost many people's lives and unnecessarily killed others Third people got new land. This happened because people explored to new places, stayed there, and grew civilizations. This is positive because life expanded and people got axes to new resources.
