Buying clothes was considered a treat and fashion trends didn't change too often. However, since the early 1980 fashion trends started changing faster and around 2000-2023 fashion trends are changing multiple times a year. Causing people to buy more clothes and get rid of clothes at a faster rate than ever before. Buying clothes is no longer a treat and sometimes we throw away clothes before they are even used. Fashion is fun and cool, but fast fashion is not.

In the ocean the clothes can trap fish and other sea creatures which severely harms if not kills the sea creatures. Sea creatures also can eat the clothes and pass it down the food chain causing a lot of animals to get sick.  The clothes also end up in landfills all around the earth. Furthemore, the landfills start overflowing so people burn them causing smoke and fumes to be released in the air. Animals are breathing in the smoke and dying and only we can stop it.

But only about 2% of those workers get paid what is considered a livable wage and most of the workers work 16 hour days 7 days every week; and because the job is low skilled the companies even hire children to make the clothes. The clothes also are not made that well because they are very cheap. Because they aren't made that well people are forced to buy more clothes and the fast fashion brands just get more popular.

A solution for this problem is to rent clothes. Someone can rent clothes for a couple days for just dollars, then return it for someone else to wear. This will ultimately stop people from buying clothes for a lot more money.
