<title>Gypsy and Traveller children have a legal right to be educated along with all other children. Parents have the same legal obligations to educate their children as others do. Gypsy and Traveller families are visited by the Traveller Education Service who work in partnership with the families and local schools to place children in a school nearby (http://www.flintshire.gov.uk/en/PDFFiles/Policy-and-Performance/MythsandFactsGypsiesand-travellers.pdf)</title>

<title>Traveller children are unlikely to have access to adequate healthcare provision. Without a permanent address they are unable to register with a GP so will use A&amp;E services for serious health concerns. Poor sanitation and unhealthy living conditions lead to high infection rates. As a result these children are five times more likely to develop health problems and have a life expectancy that is lower by 10 years. The Childrens Society (no date)Briefing on Gypsy Roma Traveller Children .
